When Tom Bradley, president of independent record label, TC Music, needed songs for emerging artist and American Idol Juniors finalist Katelyn Tarver, he turned to TAXI. He needed the best selection of songs and producers for Katelyn's debut CD and he knew TAXI wouldn't let him down.

"My wife and I are TAXI writers ourselves and we knew that there were many writers out there like us. From some of the many forwards that we have gotten from TAXI submissions, I noticed that the companies presented strong opportunities for music placement," Tom said.

Tom's decision to use TAXI proved to be very successful. Six of the 10 songs on Katelyn's CD Wonderful Crazy were written by TAXI members: "Rain" (written by Gabriel Dorman), "Wonderful Crazy" (written by Scott Krippayne), "Closer to My Heart" (co-written by Gabriel Dorman), "Life Was" (co-written by Gabriel Dorman), "Brand New Day" (co-written by Gabriel Dorman), and "Everything" (written by Gabriel Dorman).

"TAXI has helped Katelyn's career tremendously—quite simply TAXI has given TC Music an instant independent A&R staff. TAXI was a huge asset in obtaining submissions of tracks for Katelyn's CD. Time is of the essence and being able to call in a request to Chris [at TAXI] and have the listing go out to thousands of members who use TAXI Dispatch in a matter of hours is a huge asset," Tom said.

In fact, "Wonderful Crazy" is the title track and first single from the album. The song has been serviced to commercial radio and is already receiving impressive rotation in the Top 40 radio format. A music video was also produced for the song, and it's slated to appear on the Gospel Music Channel.

"When I heard it was going to be a single and that they were shooting a video I was thrilled. I've been around long enough to know that nothing is for sure—but I'm still excited—and I'm asking all my friends' kids to vote for the song on Radio Disney! I hope the song does well for Katelyn. She's a gifted artist and a great person," said TAXI member Scott Krippayne, who wrote the song.

"TAXI has been great to us. It has been an asset in the creative A&R field that has opened up doors to new and talented writers and producers—all while freeing up the workload that allowed us to concentrate our efforts towards promotion and marketing," Tom said.

"Tom Bradley really understands TAXI's value from the label perspective. It makes a lot of sense to search TAXI's deep well of talent, rather than hiring a full A&R staff that would have taken a year to find those songs, and at a cost of millions of dollars," adds TAXI CEO, Michael Laskow.

TC's head of radio promotion is in the process of scheduling a number of "radio shows" with commercial Top 40 radio stations throughout the United States, including Katelyn's first show which will have Katelyn opening up for Tyler Hilton and Better Than Ezra on April 28 in Canton, Ohio, for WZKL.

Katelyn has also been selected as a Radio Disney Incubator artist and has been booked as the headlining performer on a number of Radio Disney tour dates that include stops in Detroit, Cleveland, Tampa, and Hartford. Katelyn has walked the red carpet at the 2005 American Music Awards, starred in a national ad campaign for Conair hair products, and performs as Barbie in the most recent release of the animated feature The Barbie Diaries.

"In the near future, we are negotiating foreign licensing arrangements for Katelyn's CD (through a listing in TAXI) and Katelyn has been invited to be a VIP during Fashion Week in New York City this fall. We are in the process of presenting Katelyn to cross-marketing opportunities such as make-up and clothing lines. All this will continue along with her active touring schedule that already includes the Boomsday Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee, an Impact 210 show in Orlando, Florida, during Labor Day weekend, and multiple shows at the Georgia State Fair in October," Tom said.
