HEARTBREAKING ADULT CONTEMPORARY SONGS with Male Vocals are needed pretty quickly for an (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement in an Independent Feature Film.

The Supervisor is on the hunt for Down-Tempo Songs that would work well in place of “Breathe Me,” which is currently temped in:

"Breathe Me" by Sia

The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

NOTE: Although the referenced track has a Female Vocal, the Music Supervisor wants to hear Songs with Male Vocals only.

Quoting the Music Supervisor: "We like the vibe of 'Breathe Me,' but we'd like a Male Vocal."

TAXI Tip: "The scene occurs moments after a tragic event, and the main character’s life is falling apart."

Please submit current-sounding A/C Songs that have a similar sense of heartbreak you'll hear in the reference Song. Be sure that your submissions have well-crafted melodies, super strong choruses, and top-notch productions. All the elements of your Songs – melodies, productions, vocal performances, and lyrics – should highlight and support the depth of gravity in this scene. This character's world just fell apart, so your Songs should reflect that!

Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places could make your Songs easier to place. Do NOT copy the referenced artist in any way, shape, or form. Use the reference as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do not submit any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ Songs, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

The estimated license fee is (up to) $1,000, depending on the placement. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Copyright and Master Recording, plus you’ll also get 100% of the License Fee and any applicable performance royalties. No Publisher splits. You must own or control your Copyright and Master Recording to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. NO DEADLINE EXTENSIONS for this request. Sorry folks, but we're on an extremely tight deadline, so please don't ask!  All submissions will be screened by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Tuesday, August 11th, 2020. TAXI # S200811HB

ADULT CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS or BANDS with Male, Female, or Duet Vocals are needed by an eclectic Independent Record Label that’s eagerly looking for fresh, new talent to sign to its roster.

They’re looking for acts that would appeal to fans of artists like:

“Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi

"You Say" by Lauren Daigle

“Say You Won't Let Go” by James Arthur

Quoting the Record Label: "We're on the lookout for talented artists with a heartfelt originality and uniqueness to them. The material must have an uplifting or soothing quality."

Please submit Adult Contemporary Songs that highlight your ability to captivate an audience musically, vocally, and lyrically. Simple performances with just acoustic guitar/piano and vocals can do the trick for this request! You can also submit Songs with fuller arrangements. Be sure to have expressive, polished vocal performances that are on par with the vibe of the references.

TAXI Tip: You’d be smart to submit THREE Songs per submission so they can see if you’ve got depth in your material. It’s not necessary to land a deal with them – just a suggestion!

Your productions and recording quality need to be clean, clear, well-balanced, and good enough to represent your Songs well. You’d be wise to highlight any touring/live show experience, fanbase, or impressive sales/streaming figures you may have. If you’re a new artist or band and don’t yet have much of a story or track record yet, but you do have an amazing sound and the Songs to back it up, they’d still like to hear you!

Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. Please include lyrics, photos and a bio. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by a TAXI screener and must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT), on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020.  TAXI # S200812AC

Blues

Return to List of Categories

Mid-2000s-Style SOUTHERN BLUES-Y SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for a NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor Placement in an Indie Feature Film.

TAXI doesn't normally take requests for music for Indie Films unless there is a sync fee paid to the music creators. If there are any sync fees paid for this project, they will likely be on the smaller side (we would guesstimate less than $1,000), with most of the income earned via P.R.O. royalties paid down the road. However, this request comes from an excellent Music Supervisor who has a history of using music from TAXI's members. We think this is a great chance to (possibly) make some money upfront; and maybe, more importantly, it's an opportunity for this extremely busy Music Supervisor to get to know you and your music (and at the very least, make some performance income).

The Music Supervisor is looking for Mid-Tempo Songs in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references that we got directly from him:

"Lies" by The Black Keys

"I Got Mine" by The Black Keys

"Hurt Like Mine" by The Black Keys

"Who's Gonna Save My Soul" by Gnarls Barkley

"A Little Better" by Gnarls Barkley

Quoting the Music Supervisor: "We like the more bluesy side of The Black Keys or perhaps the soulful side of Gnarls Barkley – put those in a blender with more old school South Carolina blues of Son House, Rev. Gary Davis, Otis Rush, Mac Arnold, and you should be on the right track."

Send this Supervisor soulful Songs that seamlessly blend the style and vibe of the referenced artists together with some old-school Blues elements sprinkled in. Your submissions should have engaging melodies, strong hooks, and expressive vocals. We'd suggest sticking with instrumentation that's commonly found in the Blues and Soul genres. Be sure that your production value is strong and really elicits the bluesy vibe the Supervisor is looking for.

You can submit recently recorded Songs in the general production style of the references; or, if you’ve got any vintage recordings from the mid 2000s, they would love to hear those as well!

Avoiding references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands and profanity might give you some edge, but we don’t think it's an absolute necessity as we've been told these will be used as Background Source Music. Please do NOT copy the referenced Songs or artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Era-Appropriate Broadcast Quality is needed!

This will be a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll get 100% of the Sync Fee (if applicable), you’ll keep 100% of your Publishing and Master ownership, and you’ll also get 100% of any applicable performance royalties. No Publisher splits! You must own or control the Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Sunday, August 16th, 2020.  TAXI # S200816SB

Christmas/Holiday

Return to List of Categories

Lots of ORIGINAL CHRISTMAS SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a Major European Media Company for a variety of Non-Exclusive opportunities!

They’re looking for Songs in All Tempos in the general stylistic range of the following references:

“Underneath The Tree” by Kelly Clarkson

“Shake Up Christmas” by Train

“True Love” by Ariana Grande

“Mistletoe” by Justin Bieber

NOTE: Songs can be in just about any popular, commercially viable Genre: Singer/Songwriter, R&B/Soul, Pop, Rock, Country, EDM, Hip-Hop, etc., etc., etc.

Please submit original Christmas Songs that capture the essence of the holiday season! Your submissions should be well-written with great melodies and memorable choruses. Your productions can range from simple acoustic/vocal performances, to more fully developed arrangements. Please be sure your vocals are performed well from top to bottom!

TAXI Tip: Little Christmas-y accents like sleigh bells, tubular bells, or glockenspiel could give your submissions some added Christmas cheer, but they’re not absolutely necessary. If you add some of those to your Songs, be careful to not get carried away ;-) Experience tells us that less is often more in this context.

Lyrics should be consistent with themes commonly heard in holiday music. Non-Religious lyrics often get more sync placements because they have a wider range of possibilities, but religious lyrics are also fine to pitch. Fun, festive, nostalgic, warm, family-friendly themes typically get licensed more frequently!

Quoting the Company: “Only artists/writers affiliated with ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, and APRA-AMCOS are eligible to submit their music for this opportunity.”

This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE Deal, so you will keep 100% of all Composition and Master Rights. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Thursday, August 20th, 2020. TAXI # S200820XM

“Werewolves Of London” by Warren Zevon

"Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker Jr.

NOTE: The client is open to material from any era in all (commercially viable) styles and genres. Contemporary Songs, as well as recently recorded/Retro-sounding and Vintage recordings are all fair game for this request!

Please submit original, spooky Songs that can get listeners in the Halloween spirit. Your production approaches can vary, but they should have genre-appropriate instrumentation and arrangements. Please be sure to have super solid vocal performances.

They’re on the hunt for Songs in All Tempos in the general stylistic ballpark of these references:

"Home for the Holidays" by Sabrina Carpenter

Lyric Tip: They're looking to hear Universal holiday themes that don't have Christmas-specific lyrics (i.e Reindeers, Elves, Santa Claus, etc.) We've been told that these Songs will be used in various holiday scenes and scenarios, so they need to have general lyrics about (but not limited to) family, togetherness, and home.

Mid-1960s-Style COUNTRY POP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for a NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor Placement in an Indie Feature Film.

We think this is a great chance to (possibly) make some money upfront; and maybe, more importantly, it's an opportunity for this extremely busy Music Supervisor to get to know you and your music (and at the very least, make some performance income).

The Supervisor is currently looking for a Song that would work well as a replacement for  “I Wonder" which is currently temped in:

"I Wonder" by Brenda Lee

NOTE: The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

Please send well-written Songs with melancholy lyrics, great melodies, and authentic-sounding production. Your vocal deliveries should be well-performed and full of emotion. If you can imagine your Song being played during a slow dance on a dance floor in the mid-1960s, you might be onto something!

You can submit recently recorded Songs in the general production style of the references; or, if you’ve got any vintage recordings (recorded back in the day), they would love to hear those as well!

Avoiding references to specific names, dates, times, places, and profanity in your lyrics is strongly recommended. Please do NOT copy the referenced Song or artist in any way, shape, or form. Original VINTAGE COUNTRY SONGS that were Recorded between 1990 and 1999 with Male, Female, or Duet Vocals are needed by a super well-connected Publisher that gets a lot of Film, TV, and Commercial placements.

NOTE: We purposely passed on including references as this client is open to material in all Country Sub-Genres, including (but not limited to): Bluegrass, Country Rock, Honky Tonk, Country Pop, etc. as long as the Songs were recorded between 1990 and 1999.

For this pitch, you can submit very simple, stripped-down Songs, or you can submit more fully arranged productions. Although this request is for vintage material, your Songs must still be firing on all cylinders – engaging melodies, great lyrics, and well-performed vocals are all required for this request!

NOTE: Please submit old masters only. Authenticity is key! They DO NOT want material that was recently recorded and made to sound old. They can only use ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC OLD-SCHOOL RECORDINGS from the 1990s.

The recording quality is not expected to be on par with today’s broadcast quality! Era-appropriate Broadcast Quality will work just fine. They’re interested in finding music with reasonably good fidelity that sounds authentic to the time period.

Click here to check out this list of The Best Country Songs of The '90s to get inspired.

This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal with a 2-year reversion (they will also consider NON-Exclusive Deals). Sync fees will be split 50/50 with the Company. If you’re inclined to sign an Exclusive deal, please don’t submit material that’s already signed with other Companies, Catalogs, Publishing, or Administration deals, including any online distribution companies such as DistroKid, TuneCore, or CD Baby. Using those companies is totally fine for the distribution of your music, but the publishing or admin. (monetization) deals can preclude you from entering into publishing deals with most other companies! You need to own or control your Copyright and Master Recordings.

Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. Time permitting, someone from the Publishing Company may screen some or all of the submissions. Your submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Monday, August 10th, 2020. TAXI # S200810NT

Lots of MODERN COUNTRY or COUNTRY POP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a very active and fast-growing Music Licensing Company that specializes in music for BIG TV Commercials.

This client is looking for several (we'd guess about 10) Mid-To-Up-Tempo Songs that could fit in the general ballpark of the following references:

“10,000 Hours” by Dan + Shay, Justin Bieber

“Better Luck Next Time” by Kelsea Ballerini

“Beer Can’t Fix” by Thomas Rhett ft. Jon Pardi

IMPORTANT NOTE: The bar will be really high for this request, and only the best of the best will be forwarded. Our A&R team will have a simple mandate: Is it GREAT? Is it super current? Can you imagine hearing it in Film and TV? Does it sound ready to go as it is? And of course, does it match the style requested?

Please submit Contemporary Country Songs that sound like they could be on a playlist with what's on today’s modern Country radio stations and/or charts. Be sure your submissions have a Contemporary Country production sound with instrumentation that’s commonly found in Modern Country music. Songs with catchy melodies, great lyrics, mainstream-sounding choruses, and polished vocal performances should help you nail this request.

They didn't request specific lyric themes; however, lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, places, and profanity could make your Songs more appealing for sync placements. Do NOT copy the referenced artists or Songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed.

This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 split. You’ll split all upfront sync fees 50/50. You'll get 100% of the Writer's share. The Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share. You’ll keep 100% of the original copyright. You must own or control your Masters and Copyright to submit for this pitch. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. UPBEAT INDIE SONGS with Male Vocals are needed pretty quickly for an (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement in an Independent Feature Film.

The Music Supervisor is on the hunt for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that would work well in place of “Play It Right,” which is currently temped in:

"Play It Right" by Sylvan Esso

The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

NOTE: Although the reference has Female Vocals, they would prefer Songs with Male Vocals.

Important Tip from the Music Supervisor: "This Song will be used in a scene with two guys hanging out by a lake. Music blares out a car window. The scene is an exciting moment for one of the guys, so there should be some build to the Song as heard in the Sylvan Esso track. One character feels relieved and lucky, like he just landed a shiny new job."

Please submit well-crafted Indie Songs that have a bit of a quirky vibe and sound that are loosely in the wheelhouse of the reference Song. Your Songs should have top-notch productions, captivating melodies, and strong, Indie-style vocal performances. If you want a more in-depth look at how to get great Indie-style vocals, check out this episode of TAXI TV!

MELLOW, CONTEMPORARY INDIE SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for an (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement in an Independent Feature Film.

The Supervisor is on the hunt for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that would work well in place of “Dark Days” which is currently temped in:

"Dark Days" by Local Natives ft. Sylvan Esso

NOTE: The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

Quote from the Music Supervisor: "This Song will be used over a scene of two young guys riding bicycles. Music that's mellow, and also a little hopeful and optimistic like the Local Natives Song will work well."

Please submit well-written, contemporary Indie Songs that capture the vibe and feel of the reference track. Like the Music Supervisor said, they're looking for Songs that are mellow, but also slightly hopeful and optimistic, so try to infuse those feelings into your melodies, instrumentation, and vocal deliveries. Your production quality should be on par with the reference as well.

Lyric Tip: Although the Music Supervisor is looking for a slightly hopeful and optimistic vibe, we don't think that means he wants super happy, sunshine-y lyric themes. We suggest concentrating on capturing that feeling through your compositions and productions, rather than submitting Songs with lyric themes about being optimistic, happy, or hopeful.

TAXI Tip: If you want a more in-depth look at how to get great Indie-style vocals, check out this episode of TAXI TV!

Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places could make your Songs easier to place. Do NOT copy the referenced artist or Song in any way, shape, or form.

All submissions will be screened by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020. TAXI # S200812ND

CONTEMPORARY INDIE POP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by an A-List Film/TV Music Publishing Company.

The Music Publisher is searching for Mid-to-Up Tempo Songs that could be found on the same playlist as the following references they gave us:

“Strangers” by Sigrid

"Peach" by Broods

“everything i wanted” by Billie Eilish

Please send modern Pop Songs with a noticeable Indie vibe and style. Your submissions should have one-of-a-kind melodies, well-written lyrics, and unforgettable choruses. Having a distinctly Indie vocal sound and identity could also help your submissions shine for this request!

Lyrics that avoid specific references to names, dates, times, brands, and places could make your Songs more appealing. Please do NOT copy the referenced artists or Songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

A WIDE RANGE of PERCUSSIVE INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a very successful Music Licensing Company with a fast-growing list of placements and clients.

They’re searching for Instrumental Cues in the broad, general stylistic ballpark of the references below:

McDonald's

The Best Drum Marching Band

[Epic Tribal Percussion Trailer Music] - Death Dance

Please send impactful Instrumental Cues that are rhythmically engaging from start to finish. Your submissions can have some additional instrumentation, but the majority should be Percussion-based. Feel free to get creative, but please avoid anything that’s so complex that it will distract viewers from what's onscreen! Please be sure your virtual instruments and samples sound current, not synthetic or MIDI-driven, and are of high quality!

TAXI Tip: You’d be smart to stick to just one idea throughout your pieces. Don’t aim to compose for multiple emotions, feelings, and vibes in one Cue.

Your submissions should be about 90 Seconds long, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned endings will work best. Do NOT copy the referenced material in any way, shape or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

NOTE: We recently ran this request as a TAXI Dispatch Listing (#D200629NS), but the company wants to hear MORE material. If you submitted to listing #D200629NS, please send in different material this time around.

CHECK THIS OUT: If you’re looking to diversify and get your music in a globally recognized (and distributed) catalog, this company might be just what the doctor ordered! Several TAXI members have reported placements outside the United States as a result of being signed with this awesome company!

“Like It Is” by Kygo, Zara Larsson, Tyga

"Small Talk" by Katy Perry

“Nice to Meet Ya” by Meghan Trainor ft. Nicki Minaj

Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals only for this pitch.

Please submit well-crafted Pop Instrumentals that have a mainstream sound, style, and vibe. Be sure your submissions have great melodies, captivating drum rhythms, and an overall polished sound. You’d also be wise to give your submissions a developmental arc to keep them from sounding too repetitive or linear. In other words, short (or no) intros, build them up, break them down, build them back up, and go for big finishes.

All submissions should be about 2 to 3 minutes in length (give or take). Non-Faded, Buttoned/Stinger endings will work best. Please do not copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for overall feel, texture, and tone. Broadcast quality is needed.

ADT Commercial

“Black Skinhead” (Instrumental) by Kanye West

McDonalds Commercial

Please submit driving, primarily percussive Instrumentals and/or Cues that could work well in the context of a National Ad Campaign. Get creative with your programming, and feel free to push the boundaries, but please avoid anything that’s so complex that it will distract viewers from what's on-screen! A WIDE VARIETY of TRADITIONAL LATIN INSTRUMENTALS and/or INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a U.K. Music Licensing Company with GREAT Worldwide Distribution and lots of awesome placements in Film and TV!

NOTE: We recently ran this request as a TAXI Dispatch Listing (#D200603LT), but the Licensing Company didn't find what they were looking for. If you submitted to listing #D200603LT, please send in different material this time around.

NOTE: They’re open to hearing a wide range of Latin styles including (but NOT limited to): Salsa, Mariachi, Banda, Bolero, Rumba, Plena, Samba, Tango, Zouk, Bachata, etc., etc., etc.

They’re looking for Instrumentals and/or Instrumental Cues in All Tempos in the general stylistic ballpark of these examples:

“Tuyo” by Rodrigo Amarante

“LA REBELION” by Joe Arroyo

“Adiós Amor” by Christian Nodal

Although some of the references have vocals, please submit Instrumental and/or Cues only for this pitch.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This company is only interested in signing material from composers who have worked for libraries and licensing companies in the past and understand how standard deals work. If you don't have that experience and you don't know the drill on typical deals, then they politely ask that you don't submit to this request.

Please submit well-composed Instrumentals and/or Instrumental Cues that will help travel shows, documentaries, and feature films establish a range of Latin locations when viewers hear the music! Solo instrumentation, small ensembles, and even larger ensembles are all fair game for this request. Please avoid submitting any modern styles like Reggaetòn and/or Latin Pop for this request as they're ONLY looking to hear Traditional Latin genres.

NEW NOTE FROM THE CLIENT: The client is NOT interested in hearing pre-made loops or synthetic, "in-the-box"-sounding Instruments. Your submissions must sound and feel like the real deal. Authentic performances and instrumentation are the key to nailing this request! We don’t recommend using virtual instruments for this pitch unless you are extremely masterful and your virtual instruments sound indistinguishable from the real thing.

Your submissions should be about 90 seconds to 2 minutes in length, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned endings will work best. Do NOT copy the referenced material in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so please be sure the Instrumentals and Cues you pitch for this opportunity are NOT already signed with other Companies or Catalogs. You'll get 100% of the Writer's share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher's share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit. "Twerk It" by AFISHAL

Your productions should have speaker-knocking trap drums with sub basses and 808s, heavy builds, and EPIC drops. Please be sure that any electronic instrumentation or elements you use sound modern and current (not dated).

TAXI Tip: You can also use some simple, non-lyrical vocal chants to add more "in-your-face" energy to your tracks. Please do not submit Full Vocal Performance Songs as only vocal elements like, “whoas,” “yeahs,” “heys,” “woo-hoos,” etc., will be accepted.

All submissions should be about 2 to 3 minutes in length (give or take). Non-Faded, Button/Stinger endings will work best. Please do not copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Your Instrumentals should have solid musicianship, hard-hitting drums, and catchy melodic parts. IF you use Virtual Instruments, please make sure they sound convincing. Overdubbing real instruments on top of your virtual ones is a great way to make your material sound more authentic!

NOTE: This busy company has just started requesting music from TAXI members. It’s very unlikely that you’ve got any music in their catalog, so this is an awesome opportunity to get in on the ground floor and build a new relationship!

They’re searching for a bunch of Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumental Cues in the general wheelhouse of the following references:

WARNING: Some of the references have graphic and explicit lyrics. Listener discretion is advised.

"Life is Good" by Future & Drake

“Hot” by Young Thug ft. Gunna & Travis Scott

Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumental Cues only for this pitch.

Please send rhythmically appealing Hip-Hop Instrumental Cues that could potentially work for a wide range of sync placements. Any virtual instruments you use need to be current-sounding and of high-quality. Trap-leaning productions can work for this request as well.

The Supervisor is on the hunt for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that would work well in place of “Still Alive,” which is currently temped in:

"Still Alive" by A R I Z O N A

NOTE: The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

IMPORTANT Insider Info from the Music Supervisor: "This Song will be used for a late-night drunken make-out scene. I should mention the people making out do not have an emotional connection. The music should be party music, with a sexual vibe going on."

Think steamy and lusty, without being outright sexual in nature.

Please submit top-notch Electronic-driven Pop Songs that have a cool Indie style and sound. Think thumping beats, soaring melodies, polished productions, and super-catchy hooks if you want to nail this request. Your vocal performances should be passionate with distinct, Indie Pop-style deliveries.

Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places could make your Songs easier to place. Do NOT copy the referenced artist in any way, shape, or form. UPBEAT PARTY SONGS with Female Vocals are needed pretty quickly for an (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement in an Independent Feature Film.

The Supervisor is on the hunt for Up-Tempo Songs that would work well in place of “Karaoke” which is currently temped in:

"Karaoke" by Big Freedia feat Lizzo

NOTE: The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

IMPORTANT Insider Tip from the Music Supervisor: "This should be up-tempo party music. The scene is a rowdy teen party with booze. Female vocalists only, please."

Please submit bombastic, upbeat Songs that would feel at home on the stereo at a teen's house party when their parents aren't home. You could also think of what would be playing from a car stereo on the way to the party! Your submissions should have driving beats, catchy choruses, and well-performed vocals with the same strong, in-your-face sound as the reference Song.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Although the reference is a Pop/Hip-Hop track, the Music Supervisor says that they aren't necessarily looking for Hip-Hop. Dance, Hip-Hop, or Rap could all work for this request. Focus on nailing that teen-party vibe, first and foremost, not necessarily matching the genre.

Please submit as many Songs as you'd like, online or per CD. NO DEADLINE EXTENSIONS for this request. Sorry folks, but we're on an extremely tight deadline, so please don't ask! All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. IMPORTANT: The Music Library's CEO told us that these Songs will ultimately be sent directly to TV Networks! In other words, lots of chances for syncs with these!

They’re looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that could fit stylistically with the following references:

“Wannabe" by Spice Girls

"S Club Party" by S Club 7

“Say You'll Be There" by Spice Girls

IMPORTANT NOTE: They're looking to hear real British singers only for this request.

Please send British Teen Pop Songs that fit the ‘90s vibe and style of the references above and others like them. Your Songs should have solid melodies, catchy choruses, and authentic, era-appropriate productions. Make sure your vocals are well-performed, with solid deliveries that sound like they were plucked straight from the '90s!

TAXI TIP: While it is not an absolute requirement, the client would prefer to hear Songs that were actually recorded in the 1990s. If you're submitting newer recordings, your submissions should still be reminiscent of the music released during that period.

They didn’t specify any lyric themes; however, lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and profanity are recommended as they’re easier to use. Do NOT copy the referenced Artists or Songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Era-appropriate Broadcast Quality is needed.

CONTEMPORARY POP SONGS with some R&B Flavor and Female Vocals are needed for a recently signed, up-and-coming artist that’s working on her debut album!

CHECK THIS OUT! This label recently cut a TAXI Member’s Song for this act, and they found it through a TAXI Listing just like this!!!

They’re looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that would appeal to the fans of Songs like:

“Like It Is” by Kygo, Zara Larsson, Tyga

“Ritual " by Tiësto, Jonas Blue & Rita Ora

“Glad He's Gone” by Tove Lo

Please send chart-worthy Pop Songs that have a noticeable R&B quality that are in the general stylistic ballpark of the references above. The bar will be high for this request! Top-notch songwriting, modern production techniques, and polished vocal performances are all elements that could help you get this Artist and her Record Label excited about cutting your Songs!

LYRIC Tip: While your lyrics should fall on the younger side of the Pop spectrum, they do not want to hear any bubblegum Pop, as they’re trying to build a more mature repertoire for the artist. Keep your lyrics fresh, cool, and current!

NOTE: If your Songs are accepted, this label gives 100% of the buyout fees (for the Master Recording and the Publisher's share) to the songwriters/producers of the Songs, which normally range from $800 to $1,000 each. The songwriter(s) keep 100% of the Writer's share.

Your recording quality needs to be clean, clear, and well-balanced so that it represents your Songs well. The specific deal points will be negotiated on a Song-by-Song basis directly with the Record Label. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD, and include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Wednesday, August 26th, 2020. TAXI # S200826PP

Return to List of Categories

Mid-2000s-Style RADIO RAP/HIP-HOP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for a NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor Placement in an Indie Feature Film.

The Music Supervisor is on the hunt for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs in the general wheelhouse of the following references:

WARNING: The references may include graphic and explicit lyrics. Listener discretion is advised.

"Gold Digger" by Kanye West feat. Jamie Foxx

"Just A Lil Bit" by 50 Cent

"Drop It Like It's Hot" by Snoop Dog

"Pump It" by The Black Eyed Peas

Please submit well-produced Rap/Hip-Hop Songs that could've felt at home on mainstream radio in the mid-2000s. Your submissions should have polished beats, great rhythms, inventive wordplay, and instantly memorable hooks. You can submit recently recorded Songs in the general production style of the references; or, if you’ve got any vintage recordings (recorded back in the day), they would love to hear those as well! Be sure that your vocal delivery and lyrical flow has a distinct Mid-2000s-style delivery – they're not looking for modern Trap-style, triplet lyrical flows here.

Avoiding references to specific names, dates, times, places, and profanity in your lyrics is strongly recommended. Mild profanity might be okay. Please do NOT copy the referenced Songs or artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Era-Appropriate Broadcast Quality is needed!

These will be Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll get 100% of the Sync Fee (if applicable), you’ll keep 100% of your Publishing and Master ownership, and you’ll also get 100% of any applicable performance royalties. TAXI # S200816PH

'80s-Style RAP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for a NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor Placement in an Indie Feature Film.

This Supervisor is looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that could be found on a playlist with the following references:

WARNING: The references may include graphic and explicit lyrics. Listener discretion is advised.

"Straight Outta Compton" by N.W.A

"Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos" by Public Enemy

"Rock The Bells" by LL Cool J

"Run's House" by RUN DMC

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Music Supervisor tells us that this Song will be used in a scene that's a flashback to a drug bust. Your submissions should enhance the energy of the scene.

Please send Songs that capture the essence of the 1980s Hardcore Hip-Hop movement with aggressive lyrics, driving beats, and era-appropriate production. This is a request where you might be able to break out those old drum machines that have been collecting dust in your attic! You can submit recently recorded Songs in the same general production style of the references; or, if you’ve got any vintage recordings (recorded back in the day), they would love to hear those as well!

TAXI Tip: Since this request is for '80s Hip-Hop, we'd suggest studying the lyrical flow and delivery of the referenced tracks – modern lyrical flows will not work here. They're looking for Songs that will capture the essence of the period, so having an era-appropriate vocal delivery and era-appropriate beats could help you stand out for this pitch!

Avoiding references to specific names, dates, times, and places in your lyrics is strongly recommended.

ENERGETIC RAP/HIP-HOP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for an (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement in an Independent Feature Film.

The Supervisor is on the hunt for Up-Tempo Songs that would work well in place of “Wut" which is currently temped in:

"Wut" by Le1f

NOTE: The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

Quote from the Music Supervisor: "This Song will be used as background music for a scene where the characters are driving in a car."

Please submit top-notch Rap/Hip-Hop Songs that capture the energy and feel of the reference track. Your submissions should have bouncing beats, crisp productions, and sassy vocals filled with attitude. Basically, if your Songs make the listener want to shake what their mama gave them, you could be on the right track!

Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places could make your Songs easier to place. Do NOT copy the referenced artist or Song in any way, shape, or form.

Several MODERN BOUNCE-STYLE RAP/HIP-HOP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a Film/TV Music Publisher for a number of (up to) $5,000 placements in a TV Series on a Major Cable network!

They’re searching for Up-Tempo Songs that could be found on the same playlist as these references we got directly from our client:

WARNING: The references may include graphic and explicit lyrics. Listener discretion is advised.

"Jump on It" by Big Freedia

NOTE: To get a better understanding of this genre, please check out this Link: Bounce Music

Please submit well-crafted Rap/Hip-Hop Songs that have a distinct New Orleans Bounce-style and sound. Songs that sound more like records and less like stock music library tracks will probably be your best bet for this request.

TAXI Tip: Per the client, these Songs may be used in bar scenes where people are dancing. You’d be wise to make sure your Songs have a party sound and style that can work well in those scenes.

We've been told that actors may be singing along to your Songs in a scene. Although they didn’t specify any lyric themes, they did mention that your “lyrics must be clean.” Please avoid references to specific names, dates, places, times, and brands, as well.

Do NOT copy the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do not submit any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ Songs, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

HEARTFELT CONTEMPORARY SOUL/BLUES SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for a NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor Placement in an Indie Feature Film.

The Music Supervisor is searching for Mid-Tempo Songs or moving Ballads in the stylistic ballpark of the following references:

"Believe" by Benjamin Booker

"River" by Leon Bridges

"Hold On" by Alabama Shakes

"Sideways" by Citizen Cope

Send him well-crafted Soul/Blues Songs with strong melodies, memorable choruses, and lyrics that will tug at the listeners' heartstrings. Whether you submit Mid-Tempo Songs or Down-Tempo, moving Ballads, your submissions should have strong, genre-appropriate production with typical Soul/Blues instrumentation and well-performed, soulfully expressive vocal deliveries.

IMPORTANT Lyric Tip: They're looking to hear Songs with lyric themes in the general ballpark of the following topics: getting a break, redemption, I’ll make it through (uplifting), I’ll take care of you, family togetherness, home again, here after all this time.

Avoiding references to specific names, dates, times, places, and profanity in your lyrics is strongly recommended. Please do NOT copy the referenced Songs or artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Broadcast Quality is needed!

This will be Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, you’ll get 100% of the Sync Fee (if applicable), you’ll keep 100% of your Publishing and Master ownership, and you’ll also get 100% of any applicable performance royalties. No Publisher splits! You must own or control the Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Friday, August 14th, 2020.  TAXI # S200814RB

CONTEMPORARY SOUL or RAP/HIP-HOP SONGS with Lyrics about "Needing Money" and Male or Female Vocals are needed pretty quickly for an (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement in an Independent Feature Film.

The Music Supervisor is on the hunt for a Mid-to-Up-Tempo Song that would work well in place of “I Need A Dollar," which is currently temped in:

"I Need A Dollar" by Aloe Blacc

NOTE: The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

Quote from the Music Supervisor: "We need a Song that talks about needing money to get by. Strong lyrics, good groove, energetic – like 'I Need A Dollar.' Could be contemporary R&B/Soul or Rap/Hip-Hop."

Please submit Contemporary Soul or Rap/Hip-Hop Songs that embody the vibe of the referenced track. Your submissions should have infectious grooves, catchy hooks, and top-notch productions. Like the Music Supervisor said, they're looking for lyric themes that revolve around "needing money," so make sure to keep that in mind when you're crafting your Songs.

Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places could make your Songs easier to place. Do NOT copy the referenced artist in any way, shape, or form. Use them as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do not submit any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ Songs, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

CHILL R&B SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed pretty quickly for a (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement in an Independent Feature Film.

The Music Supervisor is on the hunt for Songs that would work well in place of “Pink + White,” which is currently temped in:

"Pink + White" by Frank Ocean

NOTE: The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

Important Tip from the Music Supervisor: "This scene is two teens in a budding romance, hanging out under an overpass, painting graffiti. They are relaxed, enjoying comfortable silence, and a close bond."

Please submit great R&B Songs that generally embody the mellow vibe of the reference Song. The Music Supervisor has stressed that the vibe of your submission is key for nailing this pitch. Your Songs should have laidback beats, great lyrics, and entrancing melodies. Be sure your vocals are well-performed and help to establish the chill atmosphere that the Music Supervisor needs to underscore for this scene's vibe.

TAXI Tip: A lot of what makes "Pink + White" feel so chill and laidback is its time signature (6/8). We don't think that your submissions necessarily have to be in 6/8, but it may be a great way to get closer to the vibe the Music Supervisor is looking for!

Rock

CURRENT-SOUNDING ROCK SONGS with Female Vocals are needed pretty quickly for an (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement in an Independent Feature Film.

The client is on the hunt for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that would work well in place of “I Hate Myself for Loving You," which is currently temped in:

"I Hate Myself for Loving You" by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

NOTE: The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

Quote from the Music Supervisor: "The Joan Jett Song has good lyrics and vibe, but the Song we need should be more contemporary-sounding.

TAXI Tip: The Song will be playing in the background of a hole-in-the-wall bar scene."

Please submit contemporary Rock Songs that would sound at home blasting from a jukebox in a local dive bar. Like the Music Supervisor said above, they like the vibe of "I Hate Myself for Loving You," but they're looking for tracks that sound current, not dated. Capture Joan Jett's attitude and edginess and pair it with authentic-sounding modern Rock productions and instrumentation, and you could be on the right track! Be sure your vocals are well-performed and have a ton of Rock swagger.

A Bunch of 1960s BRITISH INVASION-Style POP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a very busy Music Library with a great track record of placements in Films and TV shows!

IMPORTANT: The Music Library's CEO told us that these Songs will ultimately be sent directly to TV Networks! In other words, lots of chances for syncs with these!

They’re looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that could be found on a playlist with artists like (but not limited to): The Kinks, The Beatles, The Who, The Hollies, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the references they gave us to get a general idea of the sound and style they need:

"Can't Buy Me Love" by The Beatles

"My Generation" by The Who

"Look Through Any Window" by the Hollies

“All Day And All Of The Night" by The Kinks

IMPORTANT NOTE: They're looking to hear real British singers only for this request.

Please send British Invasion-Style Pop Songs that fit in the general 1960s vibe and style of the references above. Your submissions should have authentic-sounding instrumentation, fittingly stylized vocals, and classic-sounding productions that sound like they were plucked straight from the ’60s!

TAXI TIP: While it is not an absolute requirement, the client would prefer to hear Songs that were actually recorded in the 1960s. If you're submitting newer recordings, your submissions should still be reminiscent of the music released during that period.

They didn’t specify any lyric themes; however, lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and profanity are recommended as they’re easier to use. Do NOT copy the referenced bands or Songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Era-appropriate Broadcast Quality is needed.

You’ll split any applicable sync fees 50/50 with the company. You’ll keep 100% of the Writer’s share and the Library will get 100% of the Publisher's share. Singer/Songwriter

Return to List of Categories

DARK, CONTEMPORARY SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed pretty quickly for an (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement in an Independent Feature Film.

The Music Supervisor is on the hunt for Down-Tempo Songs that would work well in place of “Hurt,” which is currently temped in:

"Hurt" by Johnny Cash

NOTE: The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

Quote from the Music Supervisor: "We'd like a more youthful and contemporary take on this (not country). What we like about 'Hurt' is how dark the lyrics are and that it inspires reflection."

To repeat, they DO NOT want Country Songs for this pitch!

Please submit modern, Singer/Songwriter Songs with the dark, reflective vibe of the referenced track. Your submissions should have well-crafted melodies, powerful productions, and emotional vocal performances that will make the listener feel like their heart's been ripped out of their chest.

TAXI Tip: In this scene, the character's life is falling apart, so your lyrics should be dark and painful to illustrate that feeling of helplessness.

Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places could make your Songs easier to place. Do NOT copy the referenced artist in any way, shape, or form. Use the reference ONLY as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do not submit any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ Songs, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

REFLECTIVE SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed pretty quickly for an (up to) $1,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement in an Independent Feature Film.

The Supervisor is on the hunt for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that would work well in place of “Crosses” which is currently temped in:

"Crosses" by José González

NOTE: The Music Supervisor is NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, feel, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

Important Tip from the Music Supervisor: "'Crosses' is good for this scene because it doesn't distract from a dark and heavy event that just took place in the scene before, yet it evokes self reflection and personal crisis."

Please submit Singer/Songwriter Songs that capture the melancholy vibe of the reference Song. Simple performances with just acoustic guitar and vocals could easily do the trick for this request, but a small, subtle ensemble could potentially work as well. Your submissions should be well-crafted, with engaging melodies, and emotionally compelling vocal performances.

IMPORTANT Lyric Tip from the Music Supervisor: "It would be good to not send Songs with lyrics that tell a clear storyline, because there is no dialogue in our scene, so every lyric will be heard clearly. The stories in the Songs, can't compete with the story unfolding on-screen."

In other words, send Songs that support the self-reflection vibe, without telling a story!

Lots of MODERN SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a very active and fast-growing Music Licensing Company!

This client is looking for several (we'd guess about 10) Songs in All Tempos that could fit in the general ballpark of the following references:

"Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi

"Moonlight" by Grace VanderWaal

"Saturday Sun" by Vance Joy

IMPORTANT NOTE: The bar will be really high for this request, and only the best of the best will be forwarded. Our A&R team will have a simple mandate: Are they GREAT? Are they super current? Can you imagine hearing them in Film and TV? Do they sound ready to go as is? And of course, do they match the style requested?

Please submit Singer/Songwriter Songs with a modern, contemporary sound. Your submissions should have excellent melodies, captivating lyrics, and compelling choruses. Instrumentation can be as simple as acoustic guitar/vocals or piano/vocals. You can also submit more fully produced Songs, but they must sound modern. Be sure your vocals have sincere, heartfelt, and well-performed deliveries.

All submissions will be screened by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Tuesday, August 25th, 2020. TAXI # S200825SS

ACOUSTIC-BASED SINGER/SONGWRITER ARTISTS or BANDS with Male, Female, or Duet Vocals are needed by an eclectic Independent Record Label that’s eagerly looking for fresh, new talent to sign to its roster.

They’re looking for acts that would appeal to fans of artists like:

“I Won't Give Up” by Jason Mraz

"That Year" by Brandi Carlile

“Let It Go" by James Bay

Quoting the Record Label: "We're on the lookout for talented artists with a heartfelt originality and uniqueness to them.

Please submit contemporary-sounding Singer/Songwriter Songs that showcase your ability to captivate an audience. Simple performances with just acoustic guitar and vocals can do the trick for this request! You can also submit Songs with fuller arrangements. Having great, heartfelt, vocal performances should help you get this Record Label’s attention!

You’d be smart to submit THREE Songs per submission so they can see if you’ve got depth in your material. It’s not necessary to land a deal with them, just a suggestion!

Please include photos and a bio. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by a TAXI screener and must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT), on Monday, August 10th, 2020. TAXI # S200810UP

Vintage

Return to List of Categories

Original, VINTAGE SONGS that were Recorded in the 1970s with Male, Female, or Duet Vocals are needed by a super well-connected Publisher that gets a lot of Film, TV, and Commercial placements.

We purposely passed on including references as this client is open to material in all (commercially viable) styles and genres – as long as the Songs were recorded between 1970 and 1979.

Please submit Original Songs that sound like they could have been on the charts during the 1970s. You can submit very simple, stripped-down Songs, or you can submit more fully arranged productions. Although this request is for Vintage material, your Songs must still be firing on all cylinders – engaging melodies, great lyrics, and well-performed vocals are all needed for this request!

NOTE: Please submit old masters only. Authenticity is key! They DO NOT want material that was recently recorded and made to sound old. They can only use ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC VINTAGE RECORDINGS from the '70s.

The recording quality is not expected to be on par with today’s broadcast quality! Era-appropriate Broadcast Quality will suffice. They’re interested in finding music with reasonably good fidelity that sounds authentic to the time period.

This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal with a 2-year reversion (they will also consider NON-Exclusive Deals). Sync fees will be split 50/50 with the Company. If you’re inclined to sign an Exclusive deal, please don’t submit material that’s already signed with other Companies, Catalogs, or Publishing or Administration deals, including any online distribution companies such as DistroKid, TuneCore, or CD Baby.

Your submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Monday, August 17th, 2020.  TAXI # S200817VT
