Blanche began singing onstage at the age of five, sitting in with jazz musicians at the family club on Clark Street. At nineteen it was blues rock, on Chicago's south side. As co-leader of Phil 'n' the Blanks, albums reached Top 10 on Cashbox charts, videos made rotation on MTV and crowds formed around the block for many years, in Chicago and the east coast. In Los Angeles, she founded alternative groups, Vibe Tribe and Paisley Blacke and played the Sunset Strip.
As a songwriter, divine inspiration often sparks with melodies and words coming together. She enjoys collaboration. Her first co-written compositions were showcased at The Adler Planetarium, in Chicago. She has a plethora of unfinished songs and owner of many recorded masters of her sole compositions. Her most recent is the alternative jazz record "Out to Sea" available at www.blanchejazz.com. (10 original songs and owner of master recordings. ) She is connected with many top Chicago jazz musicians, music critics and clubs. She was recently featured artist at the Chicago Jazz Festival at the Jazz Showcase.
