At age 65, I know starting a career in music seems pretty strange. Perhaps there is a place for someone like me. Here's why. There is this huge market called the "Baby Boom" generation. Older folks who grew up in the early evolution of "pop" music. I gravitated to the likes of Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, James Taylor, John Denver, Neil Diamond, The Eagles, and Crosby Stills Nash & Young. I loved the guitar of these artists and lyrics were real and meaningful. I learned to play their tunes and discovered, I too, had some things to say in song. So for the last 30 plus years I have created quite a list of original music.
About five years ago, I discovered Cakewalk's Digital Audio Work Station for my computer. The songs have been pouring out ever since. With this amazing new technology, I believe I have come up with real gems. I also believe music lovers will relate to the lyrics of my songs. There is an advantage to writing later in life. A lifetime of family experiences can be drawn upon to deliver a message that connects deeply. Especially with those who share similar times, memories, and places.
