Terry Burns

Hello Everyone! I am a New Mexico-based composer and bassist. I have lived all over the country in pursuit of my performance career (Omaha, NYC, Los Angeles and Minneapolis), but my heart has always been in my home state of New Mexico. As a bassist, I have played and/or recorded with many of the greatest names in Jazz including; Freddie Hubbard, Gene Harris, Ray Bryant, Von Freeman, Teddy Edwards, Lenny White, Joanne Brakeen, Dewey Redman, and many others. I have produced many recordings and have won numerous awards for my music including 2 nominations from the Minnesota Music Awards and 5 nominations from the New Mexico Music Awards (with 3 wins in the last 5 years). As a composer, I have written music in many different genres including Jazz, Orchestral, Ambient and music for visual media. After 20 years of writing music, I have made the decision to pursue placement opportunities for my compositions and have joined TAXI in the hope of realizing some of those opportunities.
