A music-lover ever since he was young, Daniel remembers music throughout his formative years at home. His grandfather "Piano Red", a well-known local piano player, would have Daniel sit with him on the piano bench and accompany him as he played New Orleans jazz and boogie-woogie. Later on, Daniel began exploring other instruments beginning with trombone, then later adding guitar, bass, drums. His love for music was insatiable even as a youngster (...he spent most of his recess time in the school band music room). In high school, Daniel began songwriting, composing, and recording as a way to express himself or "speak" and been experimenting with new instruments and sounds ever since.

Sounds like your standard story, so what is this 'musical gumbo' all about?

...Well, growing up so close to New Orleans, LA, he musically digested a wide variety of music from the ever-present local jazz & funk scene to Top 40 and everything in-between including rock, pop, EDM, and orchestral genres. From Louisiana, Daniel moved to Puerto Rico and for 20 years, drove deep into its Latin, Afro-Caribbean musical traditions of salsa, merengue, bomba & plena, and reggaetón of "La Isla del Encanto". Like gumbo, a Louisiana delicacy made from a fusion of ingredients, it is from from this fusion of influences, his unique musical flavor was born. Daniel continues to produce these flavorful sonic creations while focusing primarily on film, TV, and online media. His mission simple: to create music that is exceptional, unforgettable, and like gumbo, full of FLAVOR!
