Stef Emery / The Black Coast

My name is Stef and I am a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and vocal coach currently residing in Philadelphia, Pa. I’m the lead singer of the band The Black Coast and am currently working on a solo album, a new release with The Black Coast, and writing for sync.

Hailing from Philadelphia, The Black Coast blends gritty blues with edgy rock to create a riff-driven, vocally powerful sound. Core members Stef Emery and Ryan Gaughan bring explosive guitar riffs and soaring vocals that fuse raw energy with soul. Previously known as La Capitana, they released an album before rebranding as The Black Coast and debuting the album Dark Days | Darker Nights. While staying true to their blues rock roots, they evolved into a sound that draws from melodic blues and ’70s rock. Their live performances bring the same energy as their recorded work, leaving an unforgettable mark on every show. The band is in the process of writing and recording fresh blues forward tracks, gearing up for another strong release in this genre.
