Maria Pia Beccar Varela is a singer and songwriter in English and Spanish, a pianist and guitarist.
Recently she recorded and published two CDs in English and Spanish, with Peter Young and in Sound Emporium Recording Studios and Omni Sound with the engineer Jim Le Blanc (O brother, where art thou?). Her music is played at National Public Radio, FM 90.7 and in Manhattan Neighborhood Network. She has been finalist or semi-finalist in Song of the year in 2019, 2015, 2007, 2008, and one of the 5 winners in May 2008:

Pia has also participated in several radio programs in USA and Argentina, and was
DJ of KRUX FM 91.5, Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Pia, who studied music in Buenos Aires, Argentina and in NYC, USA, received formal instruction on piano for ten years from Professor Ines Pajarinio. She participated in several concerts playing classical style. She also has six years of vocal training with Lucy Saborido and Leticia Caramuli. In addition, she plays acoustic and electric guitars, studying two years with Professor Oscar Pitana and two years with Professor John Berenci. She also performed in several plays in Buenos Aires.
Performed as singer and guitarist at Teatro Liberarte (Buenos Aires), La Loca Bohemia (Buenos Aires), El taller (Buenos Aires), Marina Palace (Rio de Janeiro), Zeppelinn (Santiago) and several other nightclubs in Argentina, Brasil (piano) and Chile; Guava Lamp (Houston) Bicycleclub (Jacksonville), Crabby Jacks (Deerfield Beach), Studio (Miami Beach) The Baggot Inn (New York), The Duplex (New York) (singer, piano), Flammery’s Bar (New York), Club 101 (New York); Café Giovanni (New Orleans) (singer, piano); Crocodile Rocks, Austin; Grand Central Station, Spirit Winds and Hastings, New Mexico (singer, guitar); Pianobar (Amsterdam) (singer, piano); Tropicana, Edinburgh, Texas.
