PAUL FOGARTY

Paul Fogarty is a natural born songwriter, vocalist, performer and multi-instrumentalist who was thrown out of his first and only music class on day one. 'I was just absent-mindedly tapping out rhythms on my desk with a couple wooden rulers. The teacher arrived and first thing she said was "Stop that". Then a couple minutes goes by and she's writing stuff on the blackboard and I started up again with the drumming without even thinking about it. Then she suddenly twirls around from the blackboard and yells at me: "Get out!" And I was never allowed back in.'
A trained journalist, former senior reporter and national editor for Thomson-Reuters news agency Fogarty knows his way around the written word. 'I've written thousands of news stories, hundreds of poems, seven novel manuscripts and north of 2000 songs.'
So far more than 50 of his songs have placed in TV series, ads, movies and promos mostly in Europe. About 140 of his songs have aired on terrestrial radio around the world including NPR, BBC, ABC, SWR and ARD networks in the US, Australia, the UK and mainland Europe.
Paul is also an internationally touring live performer. He's toured with two-time grammy winners Arrested Development and "LORD OF THE RINGS" Irish flute soloist Alan Doherty (his main duo partner), opened for Status Quo, Angelo Kelly, Karma County, James Blundell, Richard Clapton, The Waifs and featured at festivals in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Holland and Australia.
Being banned from music class as a 12-year-old hasn't held him back. Now a full-blown autodidact Paul plays guitar, piano, harmonica, bass, ukulele, lap slide guitar, bass, banjo, mandolele and percussion. He plays guitar in numerous tunings and has developed 30+ different right-hand patterns to keep his shows and his songs fresh and in the moment.
