Cameron DeVries

I've been writing songs seriously for 23 years. I write music, vocal melodies/harmonies, and lyrics. I gave my first public vocal performance when I was 4, on a small children's stage at a Bluegrass Music Festival. I sang in show choir for six straight years, and gave dozens of performances, both solo and as a group. In high school, I was named "Outstanding Vocalist" in my grade, an award I shared with another singer. In college, I performed at various open mic nights, and other functions; and I often played guitar, wrote songs, and performed with a close friend who was a skilled musician and songwriter.

I have performed six of my original songs on live tv, and received a positive and enthusiastic review of the performance from a noted music critic and conductor. I have also received praise for my songwriting and performing by Kenny Edwards of the Stone Poneys. I had a cut on an independent artist's album in 2012. I recently had a song make it past the first stage of the pitching process to a major label artist, and have had some interest from music libraries for recent songs I've been a part of. I have collaborated with 18-20 co-writers over the last year.
I am currently working with my collaborator, lyricist Ira Denis, on the first single release in 2025 for our music duo, Lights of Egan (we write uplifting and heartfelt folk/pop, with earnest, sincere vocals; and vibrant, soaring soundscapes)
My primary interest over the last year in songwriting is incorporating vocal harmonies into songs in the Americana and Bluegrass genres. I am currently writing mainly in the Americana; folk/pop, folk/singer songwriter, folk/rock; and soul/blues genres.
