My name is Matt Leclerc and I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
I've been a songwriter for almost 10 years now and I started out taking guitar lessons when I was 11 and over time taught myself how to play bass, drums, piano and other instruments.

I wrote my first song in 2016 and since then I have written over 100 sets of lyrics and many complete songs in multiple genres including Rock, Country, Pop, Blues, Contemporary and Instrumentals.

I've also played in many bands in the genres of rock and country over the years, and I recorded an E.P. in 2023 with my band Powernite called Kill The Pain, in which I wrote all the lyrics and had a big hand in writing and arranging the instruments in all the songs. When I'm writing a song my main priority is to have a really good, catchy, original melody/hook. Without that your song won't stick in peoples heads. I also try to write lyrics that tell a story, they should have meaning and by the end you should understand what the message was conveying. However I can also write lyrics that are shrowded in mystery and symbolism if that is what you're looking for as well.

I am always open to feedback of any kind and am willing to adjust anything however you would like to tailor to your taste!
