Mauricio Sarria is a Los Angeles, CA based music producer and audio engineer from Bogotá, Colombia. He studied classical guitar at National University, and Cauca University in Colombia. He also studied electric guitar in Houston, TX with private instructors. After that he studied Audio Engineering at Musicians Institute College of Contemporary Music of Hollywood, CA. While there, he won the Outstanding Student Award (music) with a 4.0 GPA.
He has been playing guitar and drums professionally in recording sessions and gigs since the age of 14 years in Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Mexico, United States, Israel, Turkey, Egypt, and India. For more than ten years Sarria worked as producer, engineer, and musician in his own recording studio in Colombia. There, he produced more than 25 CDs, as well as music for radio, television and documentaries. Some singles included in these works became hits in the most popular radio stations; they were also used in several television series and won awards throughout Colombia. Since 2008 Mauricio has continued his career working as music producer and audio engineer in Los Angeles area and now he is also focused in composing music for Film and TV.
Mauricio is an AVID certified Pro Tools HD operator, Apple certified professional in Logic Pro, Solid State Logic 4000 series console operator, Neve VX series (Flying Faders) console operator. He is also proficient in synthesizers programming, classical music recording on locations, audio restoration, and acoustic design. Playing the guitar, creating arrangements, engineering and helping artists to develop their projects is a passion for Mauricio.
