Maisy & the Microbes is the brainchild of Gabrielle Heller and Robert Davis who are both obsessed with their dog Maisy. With a catalog of songs that often crosses musical genres—folk, rock, jazz, pop—as one reviewer said, “The band seems to have traveled across the country, collecting the finest musical traditions and presenting them for listeners to enjoy.”
About the band
With a background in opera, jazz, and folk music—including a brief stint singing jazz in downtown New York City—Gabrielle has been singing and songwriting as long as she can remember (though some early songs may be best forgotten). Her primary instrument is the guitar, though she had a brief obsession with the banjo.
Robert was visited by Three Doors Down when they were looking for a new drummer–although it didn't work out it’s a story he still loves to tell. As well as being an accomplished percussionist Robert plays piano, bass guitar, and is a budding Harmonicist. He has extensive experience in music theory and composition.
At just two years old Maisy has already chased off numerous deer, squirrels, and even a small bear. She is an enthusiastic howler who often accompanies Robert on the harmonica.
