Native to the Wichita plains of Kansas and raised in Boulder, Colorado, Kara’s midwestern roots seep through her sultry voice and songwriting with an eclectic blend of Americana soul and rock ‘n roll. Her music is like a warm breeze from Muscle Shoals in a contemporary framework that scratches a musical itch you didn’t realize you had. Her songs have landed on television shows (CBS, ‘Scorpion’ and DirecTV, ‘You Me Her’) and has opened for acts, such as Steve Miller Band, BB King, Al Green, and Buddy Guy. Now fully embracing a solo career after leading her West Coast band since 2012, Kara Hesse is building momentum following her debut LP Sojourner, which received recognition from outlets like Nashville Voyager and Music Row. Hesse currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, where she is completing work on How To Fly, set for release later in 2025.
