Scott is as influenced by the landscape small town Virginia as he is by the rhythms of urban Ohio. He is a poet and jazz trumpeter turned songwriter/guitarist. It's been said that Scott "Lassos moments in time". Scott performed his original songs on season two in the PBS show Songs from the Center. He has performed in concert with George Jones, Ralph Stanley, Keith Sykes, Buzz Cason and Eileen Ivers. He has written four albums of original material and amassed hundreds of yet to be recorded songs. Scott was also the winner of the songwriter competition during the 2013 Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival. His trumpet has been featured as part of the group Drumplay in Lindsay Lohan's "Among the Shadows" as well as movie "The Language of Kickball". Scott's original works were also part of the movie short "Five Points".
Scott's life has traversed from Emporia, Virginia (A town with many tractors, one bar and no movie theaters) to Cleveland, Ohio (A town with zero tractor, many factories and bars) and Daphne, Alabama. His first love is words, their sounds and meanings. He has been likened to John Prine, Kris Kristopherson and Kurt Cobain. Presently, Scott resides with his wife and daughter in Cleveland, Ohio and teaches music for the Cleveland Public Schools.
