John Seth

John Seth is a Cape Town-born, Stockholm-based artist, composer, and producer.

My musical journey began with playing the clarinet in school bands and orchestras. I later branched out into rock music, fronting a number of different rock and indie projects in my native South Africa. Having only sung and played keyboards in bands, and wanting to expand my creative range, I eventually picked up the electric guitar, which quickly became (and remains) an unexpected obsession. In parallel to my music career, I studied and qualified with a law degree from the University of Cape Town and I have spent the past decade or so working in the corporate sector - until recently, keeping my musical endeavours as a (serious) side hustle.

As of 2025 I am fully focused on writing and composing under my own name on a full-time basis, drawing from my diverse background and interests in rock, punk, classical, pop, and ambient to craft a unique and singular sound.

I have had to fight to make my musical dreams a reality. I really am passionate, driven, and, above all, obsessed with writing and creating music. At the same time, I take all of my experience as a corporate lawyer with me to into my musical projects. I know how to handle customer expectations and how to communicate clearly - not to mention meeting deadlines and always seeking to exceed expectations.
