How would I describe my music? I’d say something like ‘Forward Looking Roots’ flavored with a little ‘Backward Facing Rock’. You might hear echoes of John Prine, America, or even Gordon Lightfoot. My songs reflect moments in our everyday lives … some are portraits, some are stories … some share the feelings of quiet moments; some share the excitement of the open road; some with humor and an ironic wink of the eye.
I make my home near Chattanooga, Tennessee, where I’ve been writing songs for over 25 years. I’ve made East Tennessee my home after growing up outside New York City, where I came to love the acoustic troubadour style of traditional folk songs.
I’ve completed ten independently recorded CDs: While my songs are originally written in the style of traditional voice and guitar compositions, the deeper essence of the music evolves at 10th Street Studios in Chattanooga, where my compositions are accented by complementary instruments and voices.
My profession as a geologist has allowed me to travel extensively throughout the United States and abroad, where visits with people and places have given me a constant flow of stories and lyrics.
