I began playing guitar in high school and left college to perform in the rock group “D.C. Star”. Our first record was released in 1978 followed by releases in 1980, 82 & 84 fueled by my material and collaborations with lyricist partner Ray (Goliath) McCrory. Our best known song over the years was "Is It You?". Signed in 1980 by Creative Talent / New York, D.C. Star joined a stable of performers that included The Ramones, Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister, Zebra and White Lion. We signed with Mirage / Atlantic Records 1983 and released "Rockin' in the Classroom” a year later. I co-wrote the single “I Wanna’ Rock Tonight” with Billy Squier bassist Doug Lubahm. We also recorded numerous radio commercials including Miller Brewing Company’s banner 1983 ad “Made the American Way”.
After a departure from music that included several successful jobs in real estate and the construction industry Ray McCrory and I began working together again. Ray also worked on projects with commercial producer John Sady and Motown pop-writer Sharon Nock. In 2004 I resurrected the name of our old publishing umbrella David and Goliath Music and established a new music production company.
I mentor and co-write with other singer-songwriters including WRBS radio personality Tracey Tiernan and country artist Mark Bray. In of 2012 "American All Star", featuring Mark, was nominated by the ICMA for Indie Country Record of the year. In 2015 I entered into an exciting new production and writing agreement with artist, producer and audio engineer Eric Dalton. More information is on D&G Music website. www.dandgmusic.com
