Christine Winchester is a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist from the Philadelphia, PA area. She often performs regionally with her husband and music partner, David C. Perry, as the duo Winchester/Perry. Christine plays guitar, uke and piano, and her vocal style is direct, authentic, powerful, and expressive. Her performance vibe has been described at different times as bluesy, quirky and theatrical. As a solo artist, she enjoys performing her own songs, which tell personal yet universal relatable stories and usually contain messages of inspiration. She is heavily influenced by popular hits of the 1970's, 80's and 90's, by artists such as Carole King, Billy Joel, and Shawn Colvin, to name just a few.
Since 2020 Christine has been collaborating with other songwriters, producers and topliners/singers, to make music that is marketable for sync licensing, therefore some of her catalog is identified with other writers, artists and band/project names. Some of these new offerings step out of the past genres that Christine has worked in as a solo creator, and now include Pop, Dance, and Moody/Dark songs.
For many years, Christine has helped run PASA, the Philadelphia Area Songwriters' Alliance, and loves helping other songwriters hone their craft.
Regarding "It's OK Now": Artist and singer Mala co-wrote this along with the producer Stanley. This song is publicly released, and is unrepresented for licensing as a one-stop. Here is some information on Mala, the topliner, who is her own established artist with her own public presence and branding: As a cosmopolitan “child of the world” with Kailua Beach roots, Mala is a pop singer-songwriter who draws inspiration from Polynesian sounds and reinterprets them for a global market. Mala's music is a swaggy blend of soulful rhythms, sultry vibes, and a cheeky touch of nonchalance.
Regarding "A Better Life": This song is a collaboration with singer/artist Chelsea J (topliner on the track) and writer Debra Lee and it expresses a woman's struggle with the personal difficulties of life and how she strives to cope and improve her situation and thrive. It has a musically dark mood, but also an uplifting survival message in the end. Chelsea J has her own presence as an artist and other material available under her artist name. This song is publicly released. It is unrepresented for licensing and available as a one-stop.
Regarding "Bestie Boo": This is an upbeat pop/dance tune expressing a youthful take on best friends. The project is a collaboration with the producer and two other songwriters, which we have dubbed "April Carousel". Produced by John X. Christine sang some backup vocals on this track. This song is unreleased and is represented in a non-exclusive agreement.
Regarding "Pushing Through": This a catchy, high energy, indie pop song with a message of encouragement to get through the challenges of life. It includes lines saying "I beat the odds". The instrumentation uses modern "stomp/clap" percussive sounds. It was written as a collaboration with two other female writers, and produced and toplined by one of the co-writers, Julieann Wright. This song is unreleased and not represented for licensing (available as one-stop).
