Rachel Shurland is a singer-songwriter and producer based in Boston, Massachusetts. She goes by the artist name by.ra and is about to drop an independent bedroom neo-soul EP in 2025.
She graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelors of Science in Cognitive and Brain Sciences and Music and a Masters of Music in Composition and will be moving to New York to spend a year at Berklee to earning a Masters in Creative Media and Technology.
Rachel's influences are Erykah Badu, Lianne La Havas, Stevie Wonder, Olivia Dean, and Cleo Sol. She tries to capture the feeling of the music making process in her work and isn't afraid to bend genre and introduce the unexpected.
