Ted Scoggins

Born in LaFayette, GA, population 5000.
Grew up listening to every kind of music.
Listened especially closely to Chet Atkins and learned his technique and appreciated his love of melody.
Wrote music, poems and plays in high school and just beyond.
Attended University of Georgia, majored in Psychology, got married and soon had four children,and worked as a social work caseworker for the state.
Decided to go to medical school, and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia, and did a residency in Family Medicine.
My wife and I made it through medical school with four children, who have gone on to become teachers. I was a Family Physician in LaFayette, GA for 30 years, then retired and now supervise nurse practitioners.
A few years ago began to write music again.
Thirty eight songs under contract so far.
Became a cancer survivor in 2008.
My wife died suddenly in 2018.
Two cuts in 2024, co-written with and on the latest album of former Allman Brothers Band member, Jack Pearson.
Living by grace.
