Spring Hill, Tennessee
John Bontempi called Long Island, New York home until moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 1999. He began playing guitar at age 12, and started playing in church at age 15. In his college years, John played rock and roll & southern rock covers in local bands, and began writing songs for a band he formed with some college friends. When the band folded, he recorded and released his first album of original Christian rock music. “The Plan” got great reviews from industry publications, most notably, CCM magazine, and received airplay worldwide. Adding Country music to his writing skills got John some single-song contracts with Gatlin Brothers Music, and several indie cuts. His music has been featured on TV daytime dramas, and his songs have earned recognition & awards from Billboard Magazine, American Songwriter Magazine, and The American Song Festival.
