Bob Ray is an award winning singer-songwriter from the hills of north Mississippi. He has been writing and performing for over 25 years. He has twice been named a Kerrville New Folk-Songwriting Finalist. He has also been a finalist in the Ozark Folk Festival Songwriting Festival, the Yoknapatawpha Art Council's “Small Hall” Songwriter's Festival and The Gum Tree Song Festival. He has won awards from and/or performed at The Memphis Music & Heritage Festival, The Mississippi Songwriter's Festival, The New Orleans Song Festival, The Highway 80 Songwriter's Festival, The Nashville Songwriter's Festival and The Frank Brown International Songwriter's Festival. He has won awards from the Woody Guthrie Songwriting Festival, The Smokey Mountain Songwriting Festival, The Acoustic Roundtable, The American Song Festival and The Music City Song Festival. He has shared club, concert hall & festival stages with Marty Stuart, Paul Thorn, Kate Campbell & Rhiannon Giddens among many others. In addition to an active performance schedule in his area, he has played showcases in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Fairbanks, Nashville and NYC. Bob's music has been featured on programs such as “Folk Sampler,” MPB's “Grassroots” & Radio Free Texas playlists.
