BIO FOR THE ARTIST TOM LAMM
Hi! My name is Tom Lamm. I am a songwriter, producer and arranger for music I compose, create lyrics for, and perform. I sing, and play drums and other percussion, guitars both rhythm and lead and I play keyboard instruments and all the other instruments playable on a keyboard, or for that matter even a computer keyboard. By far most of my music is from scratch but sometimes I might incorporate pre recorded loops to develop a song. Each album, and I have 24, has its own sound and evolution.
The genre of my music is a mix of Moby, Brian Eno, The Beatles and a good dose of Led Zeppelin and Yes influence along with about a 100 other bands that have left their individual mark on my psyche.
Rather that try to emulate one band and ultimately probably sound like an inferior version, I have strived to be unique, fresh, and create my own sound. The topics of my songs vary widely and cross a wide spectrum of ideas. For my instrumental songs one only need to look at the name of the song to know what I was thinking or tried to grasp the feeling of.
Which brings us to what is this really about besides my past. It’s about the future and the release of my new album of 17 songs called OTHERNESS. This is my NEWEST album to date, although I say that about every one at its inception, but OTHERNESS definitely has the sound of the day and tomorrow.
Currently, there is no band as I am a studio musician. I create all my music at my home studio.
I market, arrange and promote the music from my home studio. I only have to answer to me.
I take all the risk and all the criticism and I bask in the satisfaction and reward of providing my sound recordings to all who desire. It is a personal glimpse of things in my life that I have feelings about or an experience with, and is reflected and channelled through music and song.
There are many rememberable quotes out there but my favorite ones are the one’s describing the way our life can be. One of my favorite quotes is that “It is better to look through a window than through a mirror because when you look in a mirror you only see yourself and what is behind you”. Let’s look ahead. Have a good one!
