Vaughan Hughes is a professional orchestral violinist with 25 years of experience at the highest level, playing over 2000 concerts all over Asia and Europe. He has shared the stage with many of the classical world's biggest stars including Jessye Norman, Nigel Kennedy, Gidon Kremer and Lorin Maazel. Beginning his career with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, for the last 20 years he has been a principal player with one of Japan's leading orchestras, Ensemble Kanazawa. As a session violinist he has appeared on classical, jazz and pop records for Sony Japan, Avex Classics and Deutsche Grammophon, and several film soundtracks including Baz Luhrman's Moulin Rouge. He writes and produces his own music from his studio in Japan.
