William Calhoun

With more than 30 years experience writing and performing music, Bill Calhoun has a broad repertoire of composition skills. After 15 years of touring and performing in rock bands such as Black Oak Arkansas, Ken Hensley Band, Airborne, Future Gleam, Neptune Cocktail and many others, he returned to academia to pursue a Master’s degree in Composition from the University of Minnesota. His compositions have been performed by the Sartory Quartet, Zeitgiest and the University of Minnesota Orchestra. He was awarded the Eliza A. Drew Prize for Composition from Hamline University. Bill has worked with artists such as Derek Sherinian, Virgil Donati and Tony Franklin.

Bill combined his performance experience with a Bachelor’s in Music, a Master’s degree in music composition, and a law degree to create Studio Gleam, a sound studio specializing in original compositions, music recording and audio editing.
