NEW LISTING -- ORIGINAL SONGS from new ADULT-CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS are needed for an extremely high-visibility “station” on Apple Music. If selected, your music would be played in regular rotation with artists like (but definitely not limited to), Adele, Ed Sheeran, Amy Winehouse etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the references the client gave us below to get in the general stylistic range of the type of songs they’re looking for:

“Hello” by Adele:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQHsXMglC9A

“Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp-EO5I60KA

“Rehab” by Amy Winehouse:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUmZp8pR1uc

This is an incredible opportunity to get your music featured in over 100 countries, and have it heard by over 17 MILLION listeners. We know that virtually anybody can get their music on iTunes and a host of other distribution platforms, but if your music is on this particular station, the exposure you’d have could very well be career-changing! At the very least, this would be a great highlight to add to your bio, press kit or social media.

While we cannot promise anything, the exposure you could get on this particular station goes beyond the public. Virtually all of the Major Label A&R Executives would see that you’ve been included on this playlist, and it’s hard to imagine that wouldn’t cause some of them to reach out to you personally. Again, no promises are being made by us (TAXI), but you’ve got to know that if we’ve only run a small handful of non-paying Industry Listing during our 25-year history, that our gut feeling about this one is very strong!

Please send chart-topping Songs that have infectious melodies, well-crafted lyrics, and a big, amazing chorus that has tons of commercial appeal. Your song should be emotionally engaging, and instantly relatable to fans of this genre. Your vocal performance should have a strong, confident delivery that’s so competitive that it would fit seamlessly on a playlist with the other multi-platinum chart toppers who are on it! Your production should be current, fresh, original, and strong enough to be competitive as well.

Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. NO Cover Versions can be submitted for this opportunity. You can ONLY submit material that you have the legal right/license to submit and perform publically, and you can NOT submit any material that includes any unauthorized samples of any music or media not owned or controlled by you. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD. Please include photos and bio. All Songs will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI A&R person who is a long-time, high-level A&R veteran. Feedback will be limited to primarily whether or not the A&R person thinks your material is competitive enough in its current form to be on a chart with multi-platinum, chart-topping artists! The bar for this pitch will be very high, but the rewards could potentially be career-changing. All submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), Sunday, December 18th, 2016 TAXI #Y161218AC

They’re looking for Songs in All-Tempos that would appeal to the fans of artists like (but not limited to) Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the references below to get an idea of the general ballpark of what they need:

“Boys ‘Round Here” by Blake Shelton ft. Pistol Annies & Friends:

“Little Red Wagon” by Miranda Lambert:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQK0d72Jom8

“Burnin’ It Down” by Jason Aldean:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdImDqbgc2g

Please submit Contemporary Country Songs that would fit right in with the Country hits of today. Your Song should have visually detailed lyrics (but not SO detailed that they couldn’t be used in a TV scene), a stand out chorus, relatable subject matter, and a unique, confident vocal delivery. Contemporary Country Song structure, instrumentation, and production is what you need. If you want to add a hint of Pop-leaning production/arrangement, they might like that! Just sayin’!

Your submissions should be traditional song length, between 3 and 4.5 minutes. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

The estimated license fee for this is $1,475, All-Inclusive per Song, for one year. You’ll keep all rights to the Composition and Master recording, but you can’t license the same song for other Television shows during the contract period. You CAN still license it for other media like Video Games, Film, and Commercials! You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Supervisor - No full critiques. CURRENT COUNTRY SONGS with Female Vocals are needed by a Music Publisher who's pitching to the hottest acts on Music Row. They're searching hard to find Mid-to-Up-Tempo smash hits for one of Nashville's hot new Female Acts. Please listen to the references below to get yourself in the ballpark of what they need:

"Peter Pan" by Kelsea Ballerini:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmU0b8bxlG8

"Lipstick" by Runaway June:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRflFzMiDhk

Songs with well-crafted harmonies will also go far, as this new group excels at delivering harmonies like nobody's business! Your demo should be of the caliber of other Songs being pitched on Music Row, so giving them a solid vocal performance could help put you ahead of the pack! ELECTRONIC DANCE AKA EDM SONGS with Male Vocals are needed by a Los Angeles based Music Library that's in growth mode, so this is a good time to get in on the ground floor! They're looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that evoke the fun, club vibe of Electronic Dance Music. Please submit songs in the general stylistic ballpark of the references below:

"My Way" by Calvin Harris:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4Bj7Zb-YD4

"Cold Ain't For Me" by Oceans:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nZFFEsFJzI

Please submit heart thumping Songs that make you want to get up and groove! Your Vocal performance should be in the wheelhouse of the acts mentioned above, so it can have more of an R&B influence or Indie Rock feel. It would also be cool to include vocal samples to create more ear candy, but that's not a requisite. Your songs should have different instrumentation that weaves in and out of your track seamlessly to create dynamics and contrast. Your lyrics can be along the lines of what you'd typically hear in this genre, but should avoid references to specific names, places, dates, times, brands, and profanity. Please submit full-length songs. Try to keep them under three and half minutes, but if you've got something great and it's a tad longer, don't sweat it! Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced bands or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE 50/50 deal, with a one-year reversion clause. If they don't place your song in 12 months, all rights go back to you! Please be sure the songs you pitch for this listing are NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. You must own or control your Master and Copyright. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, and include lyrics.

NEW LISTING -- RETRO-SOUNDING NEW AGE ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTAL ARTISTS are needed by a really cool, and very eclectic Independent Record Label. They’re looking for Retro-style recordings that sound like they could have been created in the 1970s, ‘80s, and early ‘90s. They’re also looking for recordings that were actually produced in those decades. If you’ve got some cool, vintage Electronic New Age recordings that have been collecting dust for the last several decades, these folks really want to hear what you’ve got! Please listen to the references below to get yourself in the general stylistic ballpark:

“Fields of Coral” by Vangelis:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad1wFWdmZUs

“Stratosfear” by Tangerine Dream:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1JYDmo19to

Please submit ORIGINAL and innovative Electronic New Age Instrumentals with a Retro Sound inspired by New Age music using early synths, pads, and leads. Drums with tons of reverb will make them happy, and feel free to add some acoustic instruments, as long as it’s obvious that your Electronic instruments are at the heart of your production. Please submit one to three Instrumentals online or per CD, include photo and bio. NEW LISTING -- VINTAGE RECORDINGS of ORIGINAL (no covers) of 1960’s – 1970’s LIGHT, BREEZY, “STRUMMY ACOUSTIC-BASED,” FOLK-Y SONGS are needed by an A-List Publisher for Film and TV sync licensing opportunities. If you’ve got old recordings (with Male or Female Vocals) that sound like they could be on a playlist with the references below, or anything that’s in that general ballpark, you might have exactly what this awesome publisher needs:

"Tupelo Honey" by Van Morrison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DbTIKHYwog

“And It Stoned Me” by Van Morrison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuyENi0cPjg

“It Never Rains in Southern California: by Albert Hammond: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pyC7WnvLT4

“Chelsea Morning” by Joni Mitchell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_y7O06z77Q

“Lay Down – Candles in the Rain” by Melanie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlp3wmE4bbI

“Wild World” by Cat Stevens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k6mQyu2GxM

“I Want to Make It With You” by Bread: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvsHkyqzy9M

You can submit old masters or demos for this pitch. The recording quality is not expected to be on par with today’s broadcast quality! Many TAXI members have been signed by this publisher with nothing more than good demo recordings! They’re much more interested finding music that sounds authentic to the time period!

This Publisher is the hot, go-to company for a long list of extremely popular TV shows and big Feature Films when they need music that is authentically from a particular time period. The Publisher pays you upfront for the master rights and the Publisher’s share of the copyright, and you keep the Writer’s Share of the publishing and earn income from performance royalties paid by your Performing Rights Organization.

This company often averages several placements per week, and many of those are TAXI members who’ve been signed with this company because they submitted to a listing like this! Dozens of TAXI members have signed buy out, cash-up-front deals with this company. Several have even received up front checks for $10,000 - $15,000 (or more!) Deal sizes and buyout amounts vary depending on the quantity and quality of the songs signed by the Publisher.

They DO NOT want material that was recently recorded and made to sound old. They can only use AUTHENTIC, ORIGINAL, VINTAGE RECORDINGS, as long as the sound quality is reasonably good. This is a golden opportunity to make money with music you might have thought had no hope in today’s market!

Your name needs to be on the copyright. Your songs need to be original compositions (no covers), and you need to own or control the copyright and master recordings to submit for this pitch. DO NOT SUBMIT FOR FRIENDS! Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. Please include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis. No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), on Thursday, December 29th, 2016. TAXI #Y161229VF

NEW LISTING -- ORIGINAL SONGS with Male or Female Vocals in ALL Genres, and from ANY Era are needed for a $20,000, Direct-to-Ad-Agency placement in a TV Commercial. They’re specifically looking for Mid-To-Up-Tempo Songs with lyric themes about communication, talking, speaking, listening, etc. We suspect this is for a commercial for a communications company like AT&T or Verizon, but that’s only an educated guess! Please listen to the examples below, but note that these are just a few of the hundreds of examples we could have used as references. In other words, don’t listen to these examples and think, “I’ve got to send them songs like those examples.” You don’t!!

“Talk That Talk” by Rihanna ft. Jay-Z:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8FarCnm1mE

“Something To Talk About” by Bonnie Raitt:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJ58TVYNFro

“Everybody’s Talkin” by Harry Nilsson:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AzEY6ZqkuE

“Talk-Talk” by Talk -Talk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gncY6pSuNdM

“Call Me” by Blondie:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StKVS0eI85I

“Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XucmoWQmO5E

Please send emotionally upbeat, optimistic, engaging songs about talking, communicating, getting in touch with somebody, hearing, listening, reaching out, etc., in genres like: Singer/Songwriter, Pop, Soul, R&B, Indie Rock, EDM, Reggae, Electronic, Country, or Hip Hop. That’s not an exhaustive list of genres, so put your thinking cap on and get creative. Please avoid dark or depressing songs. Advertisers generally don’t like those!

Do your best to keep your lyrics on the universal side, avoiding specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced acts or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a very broad and general guide for the range of possible tempos, textures, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

Note: The people screening this at TAXI are well versed in the types of commercials this particular company produces, and ultimately they will be judging these submissions largely on “gut.” They will be asking themselves, “Does this sound like something a super cool, trend-setting Ad Agency would use in a TV spot?” The screeners may give you feedback on other aspects of your song. But, please don’t think that because they told you the guitar is too loud or the vocal is a little pitchy, that that’s necessarily the main reason your song didn’t get forwarded. It’s just extra feedback.

The estimated license fee is $20,000, depending on the ultimate use. This is a Direct-to-Ad-Agency pitch. You’ll keep all ownership of the Copyright and Master Recording, but you won’t be able to license your song for any other Commercials for the duration of the term of agreement, which will be determined by the Ad Agency and you. You must own or control 100% of the Master and Composition rights to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD. All songs will be screened by a TAXI A&R person who was hand-picked by the Ad Agency! All submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), Saturday, December 10, 2016. TAXI #U161210CS

NEW LISTING -- ELECTRO-FUNK POP SONGS with Male Vocals are needed by a Major Record Label A&R Executive for an International Duo that has toured all over the world and is currently working on their 5th studio album. Please submit-current sounding, Mid-to-Up Tempo Songs that are in the general stylistic wheelhouse of artists like Daft Punk, Majid Jordan, Chromeo, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references for the sound and vibe they need:

“Lose Yourself to Dance” by Daft Punk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NF-kLy44Hls

“Bonafied Lovin” by Chromeo:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uzk194IMY_4

“Hold Tight” by Majid Jordan:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3VS5xmuQ90

Please submit songs that are reflective of the ’80s era, but are also fresh and current sounding. Your songs should have strong, engaging melodies, with catchy hooks and choruses. Your production should be competitive and contain modern electronic characteristics along with live instrumentation. Your vocal performance should be full of personality and charisma, with a delivery that’s as solid enough to get this act excited about cutting your song.

They’d love to hear songs with lyric concepts like; “A guy and girl that are never on the same page,” or “He likes her and she's not into him,” or “She likes him and he's not into her.” Lyrics themes about Jealousy, Cheating and Insecurities could also work as well. In other words, they’d like to hear songs about relationships that are somewhat dysfunctional!

Your demo’s production and recording quality also need to be competitive enough to get them interested in your song, although it’s likely they’ll be cutting a new version. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), on Friday, December 16th, 2016. TAXI #Y161216EP

CONTEMPORARY, TOP 40, ROCK INSTRUMENTALS are needed for an (up-to) $5,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement. The Supervisor is looking for current-sounding, Mid-to-Up-Tempo Cues that you’d likely find on a playlist with artists like (but not limited to), Twenty One Pilots, X Ambassadors, The Chainsmokers ft Daya, Coldplay, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the references the client gave us below to get yourself in the stylistic ballpark of what this Music Supervisor has requested:

“Ride” by Twenty One Pilots:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw-0pbY9JeU

“Renegades” by X Ambassadors:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u-niluB8HI

“Don’t Let Me Down” by The Chainsmokers ft Daya:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Io0fBr1XBUA

“Hymn For The Weekend” by Coldplay:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YykjpeuMNEk

Although the references above have vocals, this pitch is for instrumentals only.
Give them compelling Rock Cues with driving electric guitars, hard-hitting drums, along with some electronic elements that all build to a dynamic climax. Using some real instruments and classic Rock band instrumentation in your song could help with adding that authentic Rock feel. Make sure your Cue continues to move forward as it progresses by adding and subtracting layers of instrumentation. Anything that sounds too stiff or obviously MIDI-driven should be avoided.

All Instrumentals should be at least 2 minutes in length. Your submissions should have good edit points and non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

The estimated license fee for this placement is $1,500-$5,000, depending on the ultimate use. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Composition rights (no publishing splits), plus you’ll also get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit one to three Instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Supervisor - No full critiques. NEW LISTING -- TRAP HIP-HOP INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a NON-Exclusive, In-House Music Library owned by a large media company that needs music for many of its Hit TV Shows. They’re looking for compelling, Mid-to-Up-Tempo Trap Hip Hop Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic wheelhouse of acts like (but not limited to) Desiigner, Future ft. Drake, Chief Keef, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references to get a general idea of the sound and style that could work well for this request:

“Panda” (Instrumental) by Desiigner:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udbfAea-6QQ

“Where Ya At” (Instrumental) by Future ft. Drake:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-F6CMv85qM

“I Don’t Like” (Instrumental) by Chief Keef:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2L-nP1UDPAw

Give them Cues with infectious beats, innovative hi-hat rhythms, and a killer bottom end.
Short intros, or no intro at all would work well. Add and subtract instrumentation as the Cue progresses to add dynamics and some forward moving energy. Your synths should sound current, unique, and edgy, with big pads that would be typically heard in this genre.

All Instrumentals should be at least 2 minutes in length. Your submissions should have easy edit points and non-faded/ buttoned/ stinger endings. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 deal. You’ll split any applicable sync fees 50/50. You’ll get 100% of the Master rights and Writer’s share, and the Library will get 100% of the Publishing for any placements they generate. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity. Please submit one to three Instrumentals online or per CD. NEW LISTING -- ACOUSTIC, POP BALLAD INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a very hard-working Music Library that gets loads of great Film and TV placements. Give them well-crafted, mellow, Slow-to-Mid-Tempo Cues that could be on a playlist with artists like (but not limited to) John Mayer, Passenger, Ed Sheeran, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references to get in the general ballpark of the type of Instrumental Cues they’re looking for:

“Daughters” by John Mayer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZLbUIa7exE

“Let Her Go” by Passenger:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tjixLbTlio

“Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp-EO5I60KA

Although the references above have vocals, this pitch is for Instrumentals only.
Your submissions should have an emotionally heartfelt vibe, with an engaging melody.

TAXI Tip: Trying to replace what might have been a vocal melody with an instrument can often sound cheesy, like 101 Strings elevator music. Try adding a more simple melody that gives the piece some forward movement, but without sounding like a sax (or whatever instrument) doing a note-for-note replacement of what the vocal might have been.

Instrumentation can range from a well-performed solo acoustic guitar or piano Cue, to a fuller production with acoustic-based instruments. Adding strings and/or some light percussive elements could help with building toward an emotional climax. Try to avoid making your Cues so busy that they could distract from dialog. Building as they progress can help them sound more interesting and less linear.

Your submissions should be at least 2 minutes in length. Easy edit points and non-faded/buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE 50/50 deal, and an 80/20 split in the Writer’s favor for any applicable download fees by clients from their Library! Please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. You’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit. Please submit one to three instrumentals online or per CD. NEW LISTING -- RAGTIME-Style JAZZ INSTRUMENTALS CUES are needed by a very successful Music Library with a very lengthy and impressive list of great placements in Film and TV. They’re looking for Mid-To-Up Tempo Ragtime Instrumental Cues that sound authentic and have a traditional vibe and feel. Please listen to the references below to get an idea of the stylistic wheelhouse your Cue should fall in:

“The Entertainer” Scott Joplin:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPmruHc4S9Q

“Livery Stable Blues” by Dixieland Jass Band:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WojNaU4-kI&index=3&list=PLFF9C1FAAF6B4321B

“St Louis Rag” by Tom Turpin:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkKEoSSa_4Y&index=7&list=PLFF9C1FAAF6B4321B

Give them well-played, original Instrumentals that sound like an authentic Ragtime Jazz ensemble, with instrumentation typical of that genre. Your Cues should feature genuine sounding instrumentation commonly found in Ragtime music, like Piano, Drums, Horns, etc. Build your Cue around a simple, central melodic theme, while adding and subtracting layers of instrumentation as your Cue progresses to keep it from sounding too repetitive or one-dimensional. Please avoid submitting anything that sounds stiff or obviously MIDI-driven or over-quantized.

Submissions should be approximately two-minutes long (give or take), with non-faded, buttoned endings with a natural decay/ring out. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for texture, tone, and vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (Great sounding home recordings are fine).

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE 50/50 deal, and an 80/20 split in the Writer’s favor for any applicable download fees by clients from their Library! Because this is an Exclusive deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. You’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), on Friday, December 16th, 2016. Use them only as a guide for texture, tone, and vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (Great sounding home recordings are fine).

NEW LISTING -- CONTEMPORARY HIP-HOP INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a big Production Company’s NON-Exclusive, In-House Music Library for placements in numerous TV Shows that they produce! They’re looking for New-Era-sounding Hip Hop Cues in All-Tempos that could be heard on playlists with acts like (but not limited to):

Warning: Some of the references have lyrics that may be offensive to some listeners.

“High For This” by The Weeknd:

“Trust Issues” by Drake:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMGpBAOD2CI

“Antidote” by Travis Scott:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnZ8h3MRuYg

Although the references above have vocals, this pitch is for instrumentals only! Please submit current sounding Instrumentals that are somewhat sparse, slick, smooth, a little dark, and yet melodic at the same time. Airy, ambient synth pads, killer drums, and a bass heavy bottom will get you in the ballpark. While we can’t say that the examples are all that similar, if you listen to all three and ask yourself, “Would fans who listen to these like what I’m doing?” and the answer is “Yes,” then you’re probably in the range of what could work! Think contemporary and smooth, not classic and slammin’.

All Cues should be at about 2 minutes in length give or take. Your submissions should be easy to edit and have non-faded/ buttoned/stinger endings. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. NEW LISTING -- ALTERNATIVE LATIN ARTISTS and/or BANDS are needed by a well-known Indie Label that’s always got their antennae up and on the lookout for great new talent to sign. They’re looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo, Alt-Latin acts that could fall in a pretty wide range of styles, including, but definitely not limited to the acts referenced below:

“Afuera” by Caifanes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EF0miVDHdGc

“La Gringa” by Yerba Buena:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ll6wIIrC6R8

“No Eres Un Sueño” by MonteRosa:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSiXGtN7Hdg

Please send them anything you’d expect to hear on today’s Latin charts, but with an Alternative influence. If you’re wondering if your music is Alt Latin, listen to the references again, and search for more examples on Youtube. This genre is very wide-ranging, so there’s no exact “prescription” for what it sounds like or what they’re looking for. If your music is Latin, but not your parents’ or grandparents’ idea of what Latin music sounds like, you’re probably on to something! If your music has an edge or is a hybrid of Latin and some other edgy genre like Punk, Hip Hop, or even Hard Rock, you just might fall into the Alt Latin genre! Lyrics in English or Spanish can both work for this pitch. Please be sure your bio includes any highlights such as, (but not limited to), touring, fanbase, or impressive sales or streaming figures you may have. Submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics, photo, and bio. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. POP SONGS with ROCK ELEMENTS and Female Vocals are needed by an A&R Executive at a Major Record Label for a previous winner of the HIT TV show, The Voice. Please submit current-sounding, Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that could be heard on the same playlist as (but not limited to) songs like these:

"Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn676-fLq7I

"Fight Song" by Rachel Platten:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xo1VInw-SKc

"Untouched" by The Veronicas:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykW4rtW2eu0

Please submit original songs that have a chart-topping Pop structure, with tasteful Rock aspects or elements that help to create a female-empowerment-style radio hit. Your songs need to be well-crafted from start to finish, and have a big, radio-ready chorus that makes them beg you to cut your song. Having plenty of "ear candy" is always a great idea for this type of song, so adding hooky little parts in all sections is a smart idea. Your demo's production, recording quality, and vocal delivery should be competitive enough to get them interested in your song, although it's likely they'll be cutting a new version. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe.

Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST), on Saturday, December 10th, 2016 TAXI #Y161210PR

CONTEMPORARY POP SONGS with Female vocals are needed by a Major Record Label A&R Executive, for a 13-year-old Singer/Songwriter with over 15 million YouTube views! They're looking for well-crafted, age-appropriate Songs in All-Tempos that could be found on the same playlist as (but not limited to) songs like these:

Please submit current-sounding, well-structured Songs with engaging melodies, catchy, relatable lyrics, with a hit chorus that's really compelling. DARK, EDGY, INDIE POP Songs with Male or Female Vocals are needed for an (up-to) $10,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement in a Critics Choice Award winning TV Series. They’re looking for current-sounding, Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that are in the stylistic ballpark of artists like (but not limited to), Alt J, Madi Diaz, Battleme, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references that were given to us by the client as a broad, general guide for the type of songs this Supervisor needs:

“Every Other Freckle” by Alt J:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUZBFLPRUUM

“The Other Side” by Madi Diaz:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSXOUtApJew

“Shoot the Noise, Man” by Battleme:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hzs3ZJn4pTE

Please submit songs that are on the sexier, gloomier, darker side of the Indie Pop spectrum and would appeal to the fans of the Indie Pop genre. Your songs should have a unique, compelling vocal performance and a captivating chorus. Using interesting, subtle, ambient, atmospheric synth pads in your song could help get you in that dark-ish, edgy space.

Bottom line: Listen to the references and don’t expect them to sound the “same.” They don’t! The question to be asked is, “Does my song sound like it would be liked by somebody who likes those references?” Does your song sound like it would be in their iTunes playlist if those other songs are on it?

If the answer is “yes,” then send your song in!

Universal lyrics will work best, so please avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands and profanity. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

The sync fee we were quoted is $10,000. However, our experience tells us that the sync fee quoted for this placement is probably based on the show licensing a song from a well-known act. We think the sync fee will be lower for an unknown, independent act. We would “guesstimate” that the range for an unknown act or composer with the perfect song for this scene would be in the $2,500 - $5,000 range. It could very well be higher, but we’re playing it safe.

The estimated license fee for this is (up-to) $10,000. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement. You’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master and Composition rights (no publishing splits), plus you’ll also get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis – No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST) on Sunday, December 11th, 2016. TAXI #Y161211EP

NEW LISTING -- CONTEMPORARY POP SONGS with R&B Influences, with Male or Female Vocals are needed for a bunch of NON-Exclusive, $2,000, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placements in a new fitness-related Video Game. They’re looking for Rhythmic, Up-Tempo Songs that could be heard on a playlist with artists like (but not limited to) Jason Derulo, Pitbull & Ne-Yo, Iggy Azalea ft Rita Ora, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the references the Music Supervisor gave us to get an idea of the stylistic range of what could work for this Video Game:

“If It Aint love” by Jason Derulo:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmZ6ziQJByY

“Time Of Our Lives” by Pitbull & Ne-Yo:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTXJQ5ql5Fw

“Black Widow” by Iggy Azalea ft Rita Ora:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3u22OYqFGo

Quoting the Music Supervisor: “The music should be Celebratory, Upbeat, High Energy, and Fun! We are seeking Uplifting, Exciting, Up-Tempo Dance Songs with strong, infectious beats and melodies.”

Please submit well-crafted songs with typical Pop Song structure, super catchy melodies, and a strong chorus that sounds like a hit. Your production should have current-sounding synths and pad patches, with hard-thumping, four on the floor drums that make listeners want to keep dancing and moving. Your vocal performance should be solid, confident, and have plenty of character if you’d like this Music Supervisor to license your song for this Video Game.

Workout-related lyric themes can work for this pitch, but they’re not absolutely necessary if your song delivers the kind of uplifting, exciting vibe that will keep gamers moving, grooving and sweating off the pounds. Be sure to avoid brand names and profanity in your lyrics. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

There will be a Non-Exclusive license fee of $2,000, All-Inclusive per Song, for 5 Years. You get the entire fee, and there are no publisher splits. While the deal is NON-Exclusive, you can’t license the same song for other video games during the contract period. You CAN still license it for other media like TV, Film, and Commercials! You must own or control the Master and Copyright to pitch for this. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Video Game Company! No full critiques. NEW LISTING -- INDIE POP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for an (up to) $10,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor, montage placement in a TV Drama on Lifetime. The Supervisor is looking for emotionally moving, Down-to-Mid-Tempo Songs that you’d expect to hear on a playlist with artists like (but not limited to), Alt-J, Marissa Nadler, Perfume Genius, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the references given to us by the client to get in the general ballpark of what’s needed:

“Hunger Of The Pine” by Alt-J:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCCXq9QB-dQ&list=RDdCCXq9QB-dQ

“I’ve Got Your Name” by Marissa Nadler:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jnQINFf5Pg

“Take Me Home” by Perfume Genius:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hrpr5ARPO84

Please give them dark, edgy Indie Pop Songs with a haunting melody, well-crafted lyrics and a modern vocal delivery that’s steeped in cool sounding reverb. Your production should contain interesting, subtle, ambient, atmospheric synth pads and lyrics that talk about regrets, the past, missing someone or something… the usual introspective lyrics that are found in so many montages.

Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis – No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST) on Friday, December 16th, 2016. TAXI #Y161216IP

NEW LISTING -- CONTEMPORARY POP-INFLUENCED ROCK CUES are needed for a $1,475, NON-Exclusive, Direct-To-Music Supervisor placement use in a TV Special on a popular Music-based cable TV channel. They’re looking for engaging Cues in All-Tempos that you’d hear on a playlist with artists like (but not limited to) Twenty One Pilots, Chainsmokers, Imagine Dragons, etc. Please take a listen to the references below for an idea of the very broad stylistic range that could work for this pitch:

“Stressed Out” by Twenty One Pilots:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXRviuL6vMY

“All We Know” by The Chainsmokers:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEi_XBg2Fpk

“It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sENM2wA_FTg

Although the references above have vocals, this pitch is for instrumentals only!

Quoting the source: “We need contemporary Rock with other influences (edgy, country, reggae, pop, R&B… ) just incorporate something cool in the tracks so it’s not too straight forward Rock, okay?”

Please submit contemporary Rock Instrumental Cues that have influences of other “cool” genres. As you can hear in the references, there is a heavy electronic influence in the first two. As the quote mentions, any genre could potentially work as long as it sounds good with Rock. Your Cue should probably have at least some guitar in it, but other than that, get creative and add in elements of other genres and give them something exciting, but not too far off the beaten path! Get right into it, no long intros! Build it up, dial it back, build it back up again, then go for a Non-Faded, buttoned/Stinger ending.

Your submissions should be at least 90 seconds in length. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

The estimated license fee for this is $1,475, All-Inclusive per Cue, for one year. You’ll keep all rights to the composition and master recording, but you can’t license the same song for other Television shows during the contract period. You CAN still license it for other media like Video Games, Film, and Commercials! You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit one to three Instrumentals Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Supervisor - No full critiques. Your Submissions should have an undeniable Rock style and swagger with edgy, crunchy, overdriven guitars on top of killer rhythmic live-sounding drums. It’s important that your Songs sound like a traditional Rock Band performed them with real guitars and amps and not virtual guitars. Please, do NOT submit anything that’s unnatural, stiff or MIDI sounding for this request. Lyrics should be in the range of what you’d typically hear in a Hard-Rock song, but it’ll be in your best interest to avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity. Your vocal performance should have plenty of attitude, character, and conviction.

TAXI Tip: Songs that feel like they were performed with some reckless abandon, yet have strong melodies and hooky choruses will do best for this pitch. This company is very well-connected in the Music supervisor world, and they’re on the hunt for songs that don’t sound like they’re from a “typical” Music Library.

Your songs should be full-length -- in the 3 to 4 minute ballpark. Non-Faded/Buttoned endings will work best for this pitch. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This Library typically offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 split. You’ll get 50% of any applicable sync fees and 100% of the Writer’s share. The Publisher will get 50% of the sync fee and 100% of the publisher’s share. You must own or control the Master and Copyright to submit to this pitch.

Note: This company sometimes offers EXCLUSIVE deals with upfront payments if they love the music so much they can’t stand the thought of it being in any other catalog. Those deals are offered on a case-by-case basis. Bottom line: They could offer you an Exclusive or a Non-Exclusive deal, and it’s up to you to decide if you’d like to sign what they offer. NEW LISTING -- GARAGE ROCK SONGS with Male Vocals are needed for a NON-Exclusive, $2,500, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement in an Independent Film.

NOTE: “Garage Rock” in this context means music that was typically what you’d hear from bands rehearsing in their garages in the late 1950s through the late 1960s. At least music that sounds like that!

This Music Supervisor is an A-Lister, and he loves to find vintage sounding recordings that sound like they could have been created in the 1950s, and 1960s, and/or recordings that were actually produced in those decades as well. Please listen to the references he gave us to get in the general stylistic wheelhouse of what he needs for this film:

“Have Love, Will Travel” by The Sonics:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20S_kwNb4rg

“All Day and All of The Night” by The Kinks:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMWNwHof0kc

“Cry” by The Malibus:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTYaLYc7XII

Give this Music Supervisor songs that authentically capture a 1960s and 1950s, gritty Garage Rock sound, vibe, and production with driving, distorted guitar riffs, killer bass lines, and big, hard-hitting drums. Your vocal performance should be confident and have plenty of attitude in it.

Lyric themes can vary, but should be something typically heard in songs by bands in the Garage Rock era. Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and profanity could have a little bit of edge, but are not absolutely necessary. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced bands in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, tone, and vibe. Appropriate sounding broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

The estimated license fee is $2,500, depending on the ultimate placement. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor pitch, so you'll keep 100% of the sync fee. Plus you'll also keep 100% of your Publishing and Master ownership. You need to own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Acoustic-based instrumentation is a good bet, but feel free to add some cool beats or electronic elements as well. This needs to sound and feel very “human,” so please make sure your song doesn’t sound stiff or MIDI-driven. Your vocal should have a genuine, emotional delivery that helps your song put an arrow through the listeners’ heart (or soul) – figuratively speaking, of course.

Lyric themes about dealing with emotions and rising above tough situations that complicate life should do the trick for this pitch, but they’re not absolutely necessary. If your song delivers a compelling, emotionally moving vibe, you’re on the right path. Lyrics that start out as sort of an introspective “downer” and end up with the protagonist sounding like an empowered winner could be a good way to go. Relationship lyrics that take the singer/protagonist from “zero” to “hero” could work well too! Universal lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands and profanity will be easier to place in this film. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

The estimated license fee for this is $2,000, depending on the ultimate placement. This is for a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Director placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master Recording and Publishing rights, plus you’ll also get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit 1-3 Songs online or per CD, and include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a yes/no basis (with short critiques) by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Listing Company and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PST) on Saturday, December 10th, 2016. Music production elements such as a simple acoustic guitar or piano and vocal will work fine, as well as more fully produced songs. He’s searching for Down-to Mid-Tempo Songs that are in the broad range of artists like (but NOT limited to), Ed Sheeran, Colbie Caillat, Passenger, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the references below to get a very general idea of what could work for this pitch:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWGqoCNbsvM

“Let Her Go” by Passenger:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBumgq5yVrA

Your songs should have catchy, modern melodies, relatable lyrics, engaging hooks, and a great, emotionally moving chorus that jumps right out. Be sure your songs and the demo you submit sound current, polished, and competitive. Your submission can be anything from a Stripped-Down guitar/vocal or piano/vocal to fuller band instrumentation. They care more about the quality of the song than your production, but your presentation does have to be strong enough to impress them! CUSTOM CRITIQUES

If you have material you would like critiqued without responding to a specific listing, you've come to the right place. Fill out the submission form with the song title(s) and author(s) as usual, but in place of the listing number write "CUSTOM" in capital letters.
Please include a note specifying the aspects you would like the listener to address.
For example, some members like to have their craft (lyrics, rhyme, structure, etc.) closely critiqued. Others want to know for which genre their writing is best suited (sorry, but we can't recommend specific listings for you to pitch to). Still others want a review of their photos, bios, package, etc.
The submission fee is $20 per song. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope, and make sure to specify if you want the CD back, or just a critique. Remember, these critiques are for your own edification and development and NOT targeted for a label or publisher, and therefore will not be forwarded.
