Tommy G & The Experts

Tommy G & The Experts is the studio project of Minneapolis songwriter, musician, and producer Tom Gebell. Blending rock grit, alt-country twang, and blues soul, the sound is rooted in Americana and built on strong storytelling, emotional honesty, and top-shelf musicianship.

Tommy spent years behind the scenes as a guitarist, songwriter, and home-recording obsessive. In the early 2000s, his band Half Past 6 released two independent albums, including Got Late Early — featuring legendary bassist Kenny Aaronson (Bob Dylan, Billy Idol), who remains a close collaborator.

In 2025, Tommy re-emerged with a string of sharp, sync-friendly singles:
• Just One Day (The Birthday Song) – Out Sept. 5, a lighthearted, bluegrass-tinged tune about a stoic Southern guy who dreads the “Happy Birthday” song. Features CMA award winner Dan Hochhalter (Dierks Bentley) on fiddle.
• Monkey Bars – A rockabilly romp using breakup metaphors to reflect on the instability of unemployment.
• Two Rights – A soulful country duet with Twin Cities artist Ali Gray about two strong-willed lovers at a crossroads.
• San Diego Blues – Bluesy swagger and lyrical bite from the voice of a man who has it all — but craves something real.

Whether serious or playful, Tommy’s songs are cinematic, emotionally grounded, and marked by thoughtful, well-crafted writing.
