Scott L. Alexander

Scott Alexander grew up in a musical family in Indianapolis, Indiana. His late cousin, Louis Persinger, was a renowned violin instructor at the Julliard School as well as conductor for the San Francisco Philharmonic. Among his pupils were the virtuosos: Yehudi Menuhin, Isaac Stern and Ruggiero Ricci.

Scott earned his Associate's Degree in Music and Fine Arts from Vincennes University. He then went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in music theory/composition and education from Indiana State University where he was classically trained in trombone and low brass with a secondary emphasis on jazz studies. He studied composition with acclaimed contemporary composer, David Ott. Scott later continued his graduate work at Indiana University in Indianapolis focusing on Music Multi-Media Technology.

Scott has played in the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra as well as in various big band, jazz ensembles and rock bands in addition to performing solo acoustic engagements.

These days Scott composes music in his home studio where his focus is on instrumental music ranging from piano to mixed ensembles to orchestral pieces. Scott is able to cleverly blend electronic and ambient components into traditional "classic" orchestral compositions.
