Media Composer | ASCAP Member | Midwest, USA
My passion for music and sound began early—experimenting with reel-to-reel and cassette recorders, and playing a variety of instruments throughout my school years. That curiosity led me to formal study at the IU School of Music and a degree in Music Theory/Composition from Webster University.
I spent more than three decades as a staff composer and producer at SmithLee Productions in St. Louis, where I wrote and produced original music for hundreds of projects. These included documentaries, national and local radio/TV commercials, corporate and nonprofit films, web programming, and children’s media.
Alongside composing, I engineered a wide range of projects for corporations, publishers, nonprofits, and broadcasters. Years of experience selecting and editing production music gave me a strong sense of how music supports storytelling—something that continues to shape my work today as a composer for music libraries.
