Ricardo Schneider is part of a generation of artists redefining the lo-fi sound by placing the guitar at its heart. A Brazilian musician shaped by years of performing and recording, he draws on blues and soul influences to create a style that is both personal and recognizable. His work has reached a global audience, surpassing 80 million streams on Spotify.
His debut albums, Tides and Distance, established a sound built on melodic guitar lines and detailed arrangements. He has collaborated with names including softy, Lenny Loops, Leticia Filizzola, Hoffy Beats, K. Sparks, Gabriel Cavalcanti and Pointy Features.
In 2021, Schneider joined a live project led by Linearwave to bring lo-fi to the stage. That vision came to life at Polifonia, a major festival in Rio de Janeiro, where they performed on the iconic Vivo Rio stage — one of the first full live lo-fi bands in the world.
With Sleep Tales, he has released the EPs Still Dreaming and Dreamwalking, and the album Melodies from Earth with Lenny Loops. His work also appears in high-profile compilations reimagining classical songs, such as Regarding George Gershwin (Downtown Music), and Brazil Goes Lo-Fi (Lofi Land), where his version of “Água de Beber” (Antônio Carlos Jobim, Vinícius de Moraes) with FaOut became one of the most popular Brazilian lo-fi tracks to date.
From studio recordings to landmark live performances, Ricardo Schneider’s body of work is both a personal statement and a contribution to modern lo-fi.
