“There is no doubting the honest sincerity and vocal intensity that Nina Ferro gives in her latest album Into the Light”.
Ian D Hall, Liverpool Vision and Sound
Nina has produced 8 solo albums and numerous singles throughout her career. Her most recent album release Into The Light, saw Nina venture down a new but familiar musical path, creating her most personal album to date. Whilst Nina started out as a Jazz singer (singing that other kind of "Americana", the American song book of Jazz), her music had become influenced more and more by her own passions and musical loves, those being Soul, old school R&B, Funk, Blues and Country which Nina brings into her songwriting. Nina along with her Producer Sam Hawksley, assumed co-writing duties with some Nashville's top industries writers such as Gary Nicholson, Jerry Salley, Rachel Loy, Michael Heeney and Jedd Hughes, taking inspiration from musical influences such as Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, Nancy Wilson, Stevie Wonder and Norah Jones to name but a few. Into The Light, showcases not only an unforgettable vocalist, but also an accomplished and insightful songwriter. Written and recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, Into the Light features 13 beautifully crafted original compositions infused with soul and awash with the signature Nashville sound.
”Into the Light is simply a magisterial album…her singing and the accompanying musicianship would be difficult to better”
