The writers and musicians in the Mondak Music Group have written and composed for over a dozen CDs, performed on over twenty, and amassed several thousand radio plays. Primary genres include jazz, children's, humorous/novelty, and singer-songwriter.
Chris Mondak has received two international awards for jazz composition and eleven national commendations for bass performance. Chris's 2023 CD Blank With Colour (Summit Records) received radio play on over 70 stations just in the first two weeks since radio stations received the tracks in September 2023. Chris jazz CD Glass Spheres reached #17 on the NACC jazz chart, spent multiple weeks in the top 100 of the Jazz Week chart, and amassed approximately 135,000 Spotify plays. Chris and his bands perform regularly in Nashville. In 2024, he had his first performance at the legendary Ryman, playing with Sigur Rós. Chris also has played on two multi-week tours in China, one-week runs in Mexico and Panama, one-offs in Australia and Switzerland, and shows in over 20 U.S. states. Chris is a 2020 graduate (B.M.) of the New England Conservatory, where he studied with jazz legends Cecil McBee and Dave Holland. Chris has performed with multiple jazz Grammy winners and with several top artists from American Idol and The Voice. As a high school student in Illinois, Chris was a three-time all-state bassist.
In 2024, Chris formed the five-piece Nashville-based indie rock band cc2craazy and the band has quickly become a mainstay on Nashville's rock scene. Collectively, the band's members have played thousands of shows in the U.S. and around the world, and they can be heard on dozens of recordings. With outstanding musicianship, fierce energy, and an array of sophisticated, original songs, cc2craazy has been compared to bands such as Cage the Elephant, Green Day, Fountains of Wayne, and The Killers. The band has posted several demos on Spotify and amassed thousands of streams there.
Jeff Mondak's humorous children's songs have received multiple plays on the Dr. Demento show, numerous children's music programs, and NPR's "All Things Considered." Jeff has co-written with folk music icon Christine Lavin. Two of his songs were performed by the renowned National Youth Choir of Scotland, backed by the BBC Orchestra.
