Starting as the bass player that was good for a couple of lead vocals a set to give the singer a rest, Scott Parker (aka MidLyfe's Crisis) set about to create his own songs and vibe from his studio in Frederick, MD, USA. Having learned the drums after practicing on the kit left in his garage for years of band practice, Scott decided to learn to play some guitar, too, in order to bring his songs to a creative life, and maybe give the bar scene a rest. Which morphed into a bucket list item to write, produce, record, and mix a collection of songs about life. With much encouragement for this idea from Mrs. MidLyfe's Crisis.
After learning the recording process and studying some audio engineering, Scott ultimately wrote the songs and performed practically all the instruments found on MidLyfe's Crisis' debut release "Back in the Day" from 2022. Although one bucket list item was accomplished, MidLyfe's Crisis continued the momentum, releasing "In the Kitchen," which is an upbeat, "accidental" love song written during a bout with the COVID. It marked the next evolution of a former bass player and back-up singer to recording artist. “In the Kitchen” reached Number 1 for two weeks on the Unsigned Artist Top 200 chart at HUGS@wrgg, and was featured on the nationally syndicated “Tony Kornheiser Show” podcast.
The follow up, “Slow Going for Lupe” was also featured on the Tony Kornheiser Show, and has been featured on radio in various countries. These two songs are featured on the EP “Managing the Decline” which was released to streaming in June of 2023.
The title track from “Managing the Decline” hit the airwaves, and has been played in numerous countries, and was the third tune of MidLyfe’s Crisis to be featured on the syndicated “Tony Kornheiser Show.” Featuring a piano lead from a talented doctor and numerous internet radio plays to date. “Sixteen Hours” was the next release from MidLyfe’s Crisis; a new tune capturing a cool, fun vibe. "Living Two Out of Seven", a fun yet meaningful song about living for weekends to be with the family marks the continuing story of quite a MidLyfe’s Crisis.
Not bad for the bass player…
