Mark R Poff

Mark R Poff is a San Francisco Bay Area-based composer, music producer, songwriter, and musician. His most recent original score was for the documentary “Spellers”, winner of Best Documentary Feature Award and Donor’s Choice Award at the Phoenix Film Festival and received Honorary Best Feature Documentary at the Ridgefield International Film Festival (RIFF). “Spellers” has been viewed over 13 million times online worldwide.

His compositions often incorporate elements of new age, electronica, downtempo, chill house, and ambient soundscapes. Mark produces and performs with pianos, synth instruments, programmed soft synths, acoustic drums and percussion, electronic drums and drum machines, and acoustic and electric guitars. He produces and plays piano, drums, and keyboards in live and studio settings across a range of genres from jazz to rock. He studied classical piano, drums, percussion, flute, and oboe, and has performed in a pantheon of musical groups. Playing across a range of genres and ensembles — from winds in symphonies, to piano jazz jams, to drums in rock bands — has provided Mark with wide exposure to music theory, instrumentation, genres, and musical emotions to incorporate into his productions.
