Hey y’all, I’m JOSH FR3DA. I blend country, classic rock, alternative, and the blues with stories from my life to empower my audience. In July 2021, I was performing at a showcase in Chicago when a producer and songwriter from Nashville scouted me. Slowly, we wrote a bunch of songs and I made my way to Nashville. When it came time to record, my producer, Matt Wilder, brought some of country music’s best musicians on board. We tracked at Lonnie Wilson’s studio in Franklin (Lonnie is Faith Hill’s drummer), and afterwards, I found out that I was the first openly gay artist to make a record there. My first record, Turn Him Loose, is an autobiographical battlecry for self-love and swagger. I sing about my coming out story, my dogs, my insecurities, finding my sexy, and coming into my own. True to form, I juxtapose substantive lyrical content with catchy melodies and powerful music. Really, I’m just singing out loud what I need to hear myself. Maybe you’ll relate? If so, boogie.
