Erin McLendon is a walking, talking poster child for “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” She believes in love, magic, frolic and play, and she dreams BIG! Her childlike outlook on life is not only a quality that defines her quite nicely, it is the combination of her wit, wisdom and love for humanity that is equally endearing.
The young singer/songwriter from Durham, NC is a 2012 Belmont grad that earned her Bachelor's of Music degree in Commercial Voice (with an emphasis in Music Business); Erin knows her business and she continues to “study” music as an extension of her personal and artistic growth. She divides her concentrations to pursue her own ambitions and pursuit while teaching voice to other young hopefuls who share the very same passion to perform, and also running her company “Music on The Move Studios.” The company strives to create a community of like-minded individuals who want to empower women, uplift the next generation of musicians, and create opportunities for the independent artist!
Her latest release, a self-titled album, delivers a grittier, more honest side to McLendon that not only paints a picture of her own experiences but also, her family history. Her last two releases reflect directly on true stories, with a hint of creative license to keep everyone on their toes. “Millie,” a story about her own great-grandmother & its music video reflect the vintage late 1920’s & early 1930’s era with its costuming, incredible soloist dancer, & production. It was largely inspired by the number “Cell Block Tango” from the musical, Chicago.
The album was recorded in Nashville at Yakland Studios by Stephen Leiweke (Lauren Daigle, Russel Dickerson, Matt Maher, Michael W Smith) and included powerhouse studios musicians such as Chris Donahue (Robert Plant, Emmy Lou Harris, Kristin Chennoweth), Chris Cooke (Kansas, Petra, The Gettys), and more!
“Erin McLendon” the album, surreptitiously released on August 26th, which is also Women’s Equality Day. This album has earned her a number of features including, a finalist spot in the inaugural Tennessee Titans Battle of the Bands competition, which also led to her becoming a regular featured performer at Titans games, the Good Neighbors Festival, The Savannah Women’s Half Marathon post-race show, and The Bluebird.
Erin is currently working on new music to be released this year.
