Dean Demaree is a seasoned musician and songwriter. He uses the pseudonym Dez Maree which is attached to the copyright of everything he composes. He has his own private studio and is expert level in AVID—Pro Tools. Dean enjoys composing and producing in different genre. He is well suited for Pop or Rock Band, Full Orchestra, Folk, and Soft Ballad formats. He has been in numerous club bands and has been a freelance bass and back up singer for acts such as Big Joe Turner, The Ikettes, Chuck Berry, Ronnie Dove, Rufus Thomas, and more. He dabbled in recording in the Southern California area, but found work as an assistant producer for the Robert Fitzpatrick Organization in the live concert entertainment division. He was assistant producer to Robert Fitzpatrick who was a Lawyer, Manager, Film Actor, and Producer in Los Angeles. While there at RFO Dean worked with greats like Stephen Stills, Jefferson Starship, Alice Cooper, The Police, Rick Derringer, Dave Mason, and many more.
Dean is a graduate of Indiana University where he received highest distinction honors in English (Writing).
One of his favorite studies was French Cinema where he was exposed to the European point of view of Noire Films and the direction techniques of the great Alfred Hitchcock and Jean-Pierre Melville. Another favorite was his study in Literature where he was exposed to Daniel DeFoe, Jane Austen, George Orwell, and William Sommerset along with the poetry of Poe, Dickinson, Frost, Blake, Thomas, and Longfellow.
