Charlie Clarke grew up on the Jersey Shore. Charlie attended both
Rutgers, and Berklee College of Music. He studied with such jazz greats as Kenny Baron,
Frank Foster, Andy Laverne and others. After receiving a BA in Music from Rutgers College, Charlie later attended Montclair State University studying piano and music composition. Charlie has composed over 200 works in a variety of music styles, jazz, pop, rock, country, folk, choral, sacred music, new age and funk. Charlie has published many choral arrangements with Hal Leonard Music. He continues to perform mostly in the tri-state area around New York and NJ. You can hear him in a variety of music groups such as The Notorious Clarke Brothers Organ Trio with his brother Doug a noted jazz guitarist and college professor. Charlie also leads the Riverside Jazz Band performing new and old dixieland music. He can also be found backing numerous local singers and leading is own duo and piano trio. Charlie resides on the Jersey Shore as a full time musician, teacher, composer and recording artist.
