Alice & Albert and Alice Rye
Crystal River, FL
Alice Rye is part of the duo Alice & Albert. Alice's roots are from Nashville, Tennessee. She is published at Ben Hall's studio with her country songs. When she traveled with Albert, they performed as New Folk Artist and were selected for the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas. They were also featured as Emerging Songwriters at Nappa Valley Folk Festival. At Southwest Folk in Tucson they opened for Odetta. Also at the Southwest Music Conference in Austin they performed on the country stage showcasing some of their country songs. At the Oregon Folklife Festival in Corvallis and the Rose Festival in Oregon, they were main stage performers. As you can tell, Alice loves her music both her own and as co-writer on Alice & Albert's CD's.
Their songs have crafty guitar licks and sparkling harmonies. Alice Rye is now performing on her own because Albert passed away in May of 2013. She still writes and performs but hopes to have her music on television and movies. Together they wrote and produced over 10 CD's. Now she sings some of the songs they wrote and writes from her many years of life experiences. Written from her heart, her vocals are warm, intimate, and sassy whatever the song calls for.
