My parents were in church music. My father was a published lyricist. Weird coincidence, in 1960 my best friend in Tulsa was Dwight Twilley, and in the early 70's my best friend was Lindsey Buckingham. I was roadie for Fritz, and at the end I was their manager. I was the only person involved in the early stages of Buckingham Nick's, and spent over 1000 hours with mostly Lindsey at his dad's coffee plant making their demo tape that led to their showcase in LA, that eventually led to their record deal with Polydor. They moved to LA and I didn't. My other most notable musical influence was the fact that I was a listener of radio KMPX, and then KSAN during the year they were breaking ground in the new FM radio genre. I consider that as being probably the most magical radio in American pop music history. I attended one recording session each of the albums Buckingham-Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, and Rumors. I remember the famous Neve console at Sound City when it was but a gleam in Keith Olson's eye.... I have been a landscape contractor for close to 50 years. I have been writing songs for almost half that long. I trust my judgment, my songs are good. I am currently trying to learn the computer music production environment to produce my own music. I need help learning how to work in that environment. Just as an afterthought, I own the Les Paul Goldtop that Jerry Garcia played in 1967, and that Lindsey Buckingham used on the demo of Buckingham Nicks. In my mind most of my musical bio is in front of me not in my past.
