Michael Baldwin
Irvine, CA
Michael Baldwin has played piano since he was six, after first taking accordion lessons. He was is in his first rock band in high school, and played in various bands around Southern California. After playing shows, clubs and headlining along Hollywood's Sunset Strip, he departed from live gigging to record on studio sessions for numerous artists.
Continually playing piano, composing music over the years, Michael decided to assemble a small MIDI studio in 1989. It was from here he assisted longtime friend and former band mate, Joey Tafolla, with some articles and charting, and composed, played and arranged some pieces for commercial projects. In 2007, Michael decided it was time to upgrade the studio, and completely renovated a spare room (his daughters' old bedroom).
Michael acquired lots of recording and studio equipment, including portable digital recording. In 2008, Michael took on a small project for a European recording session, and has since been concentrating on his original compositions and arrangements. Another interest is exploring original compositions and arrangements for a local orchestra, by request.
