It's been quite a year for TAXI member Megan Slankard of Berkeley, California. After the release of her new album, Freaky Little Story, Megan appeared on The Learning Channel's What Not To Wear, which generated a flurry of CD sales that had her in the top ten of both CD Baby and for several months.

Overall Megan has sold 12,000 units of her first two releases. She was also included on San Francisco AAA station KFOG's Local Scene compilation CD, was featured in Acoustic Guitar and Rockgrl Magazine, and showcased at a Pantene Pro-Voice event in Los Angeles (Megan was a national finalist in the 2002 Pro-Voice competition).

Megan also co-wrote and performed the title track to founding Dire Straits member David Knopfler's new record, Ship of Dreams, and won the Modesto (CA) Music Award for best pop/rock act, where radio station KOSO has played Megan's "Too Bad You" over 500 times to date.

Look for Megan in a city near you, as she will be touring throughout the U.S. and Canada in 2005. For more information (we can't keep up with everything Megan has been doing!), check out her Web site:
