Listings from Taxi and Dispatch are a great source of inspiration and motivating force. They have me writing in genres I never imagined I could. While I enjoy the challenge of writing both music and lyrics, I also enjoy collaborating. It creates a whole other dynamic. I am fond of epic film themes (a la Ennio Morricone and John Williams) and have an affinity for romantic songs (Michel Legrand, Johnny Mandel), as well as the Great American Songbook, which was my staple diet as a child. The Bergmans would have to be one of the finest lyric writing teams. I also think Sheldon Harnick is vastly underrated. It's my dream to write a song that might become a classic. I'd be up for writing a musical if it had a strong enough storyline, though I'd also settle for a Disney love song or timeless Christmas song! I live in Sydney, Australia with my best friend/musician/sound engineer/producer husband, Miles. He is my mentor and sounding board, my other set of ears. My music would be much poorer without his skills. One of my dreams is to attend a Taxi road rally with him (in person)!
