Ray was given his first instrument at 13 as a Christmas present. It was a small Yamaha keyboard. The great thing about this keyboard was that it could record 5 tracks on it! Many songs were made on that keyboard, and a couple school performances.
While in Junior High, Ray joined the school band, learning the tenor saxophone. After three years of many school and community performances, he traded music for school sports. But, creating music would still become a future passion. Ray picked up his first guitar in the middle of his 18th year. It was a funny thing, too. You see, his car insurance was due, and he had the money. Before paying his insurance, Ray decided to walk into a guitar shop. This is where he was given an awesome deal on an electric guitar/amp combo for the low low price of all the insurance money. SOLD!! In the years that followed, Ray played in local bands. He gained experience playing live shows and contests. After the band life, he wanted to create his own music, so he learned how to get a good mix and continues to make songs and instrumentals.
