Most recent, the song "Enough" was a semi-finalist in the Song of the Year contest. Phillip's song "Short Bus" earned a honorable mention in the 2008 Billboard Song Contest and his song "You Still Got Me" was a semi-finalist in the 2009 International Song Contest and honorable mention in the 2009 Billboard Song Contest. His song "Miss GPS" was awarded Honorable Mention in the USA Songwriting Contest.
Currently, Phillip manages a Bluegrass/Classic Country venue in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina that was recently featured in the April issue of Southern Living magazine as one of the top 5 places for Bluegrass in NC.
Notable performers who have played the venue, known as Feed and Seed, include Carl Jackson, Jerry Salley, Larry Cordle, Jim Lauderdale, Ron Block from Union Station, Susan Cowsill, Ed Bruce, Susan Gibson, Mark Stuart & Stacy Earle, David Holt, Buddy Greene, Randy Stonehill, Mike Roe, Sierra Hull, and Elvis (well, sorta).
