Howard Alper is a drummer, songwriter, producer that has long encompassed in his music the myriad experiences and influences of growing up in his native Brooklyn, NYC.
As a teenager Howard started to study drumset and quickly began playing in local bands. An appreciation of Rock, Hip-Hop and Funk led to Howard gigging with NYC Funk/Rock legends D'TRIPP.
After his stint with D'TRIPP, Living Colour vocalist Corey Glover tabbed Howard to play drums in his solo project. This association led to Howard collaborating with Corey for his release on LaFace records entitled "Hymns." The critically acclaimed Rock & Soul album was an important step in Howard's professional career as a drummer and songwriter.
After working with Corey Glover, Howard co-founded The Radical Thought Resistance, a Hard Rock meets Drum & Bass/Jungle project. Their self released CD entitled "Empowered Species" garnered favorable reviews and Howard's drumming was profiled in Modern Drummer magazine. He is currently working as a producer/songwriter/drummer with Nightcaller & GOCCO.
