Harold Schenk , arranger, producer, songwriter and sound designer. Over the past three decades he has worked with South Africa's top performing and recording artists and record labels.
Started his musical journey at the age of 4, studying classical piano and obtained his licentiate cum laude at the age of 18. After leaving school he toured extensively with the major pop and rock acts of the 80's. He was one of the founder members of the band, Petit Cheval and also played for bands like Marc Alex.
In the early 90's, he teamed up with Afrikaans singer, Amanda Luyt and together they produced an Afrikaans album, called, ye-ye and a jazz fusion project, called Paradiso. This album was nominated for a SAMA award.
Harold and Amanda got married and opened their own studio in Pretoria where Harold continued to arrange and produce tracks for high profile artists in the industry (see client list). During this time he produced Coleske's first album which managed to land a distribution deal in 29 territories in Europe. He also designed the logo music for the TV 1 childrens channel, YO- TV.
In 2003 they moved to Cape Town. Still being involved in producing tracks for major Afrikaans labels, Select Music and Coleske Artists, he concentrated more on sound design for brands and did major work for ACSA and DSTV. He also produced another album for Amanda, which was released in 2006 and nominated for a SAMA award. The KYKNET channel sound design (2011 / 2012 / 2013 / 2014) is his work as well as the music for TBN-AFRICA, TBN USA and TBN UK.
Keyboard being his main instrument, he is a master in the field of music instrument programming.He gained intensive knowledge in the effects of different energy levels of music on the human psyche and created a library of relaxation music, which is currently being used by top health spas in South Africa and abroad.
