She began to teach herself guitar and piano, quickly gaining the attention of fans and admirers worldwide through her YouTube and Instagram covers and original material. Nowadays, the rapid evolution of her art is obvious as she continues to evolve her own unique sound.
Rachael takes inspiration from a wide range of influences from the genres of hip hop, pop, worship and R&B. Artists she rates include DOE, Bruno Mars, Dave, RAYE, Kirk Franklin, and Lauryn Hill.
In addition to her musical talents, Rachael has a gift for business. In October 2020 she was one of a 3-girl team who won Technovation Girls, an international competition which challenges young women to develop problem-solving apps. Technovation is a nonprofit organization that empowers girls to become leaders in tech.
The three teenagers developed the Memory Haven app, beating more than 1,500 submissions from 62 countries. Memory Haven can be used by both patients and caregivers. Its six features target problems faced by those with dementia, notably memory loss and difficulty with recognition and speech.
Rachael, interviewed by National Public Radio in the USA, remarked: “I instantly fell in love with the business aspect of the competition. I think I’m definitely going to go into international business and IT.” At the same time, she admitted she is also obsessed with music: “I eat, breathe and sleep music. I play the piano, the guitar and I sing.”
Now working with well-known Irish songwriter Seán Silke and the Beardfire Music production team (Patricia Lalor, All The Queen’s Horses, RUNAH, Lauren Ann), Rachael is set to unleash her haunting voice and uniquely artistic interpretation on the world stage.
