Flame Tides is a groovy melodic two-piece alt rock band from Charlotte, NC. Mike (Rocketman) McNeely plays a Baritone guitar and sings while Hayley Moran plays drums and sings backup. Their debut album Thunder Love was released in 2019, and their album release concert was voted best live show in 2019 by readers of Queen City Nerve. Thunder Love is primarily an instrumental album full of catchy riffs and occasional vocals provided through a talk box, Peter Frampton style. Their anticipated sophomore album titled Bonfire Tsunami includes 10 new catchy songs with 3 instrumentals and the rest with vocals/lyrics. This album is being released on vinyl and was mastered by Oli Morgan of Abbey Road Studios, London. The vocal songs are catchy, melodic, groovy and nod slightly to the best rock and roll of the 70s. The instrumentals range from mysterious and moody to all-out amps-on-11 with everyone bouncing. Flame Tides has been compared to Queens of The Stone Age, Foo Fighters, White Stripes, Sabbath, Royal Blood and even Zeppelin. Regardless of the comparisons, Flame Tides has a unique primal authentic sound with melody and groove taking precedence over flash and hype. Both Mike and Hayley are artists, and the way of art is the road travelled in their sonic creative journey. "We love to explore and create within the severe limitations of two instruments and vocals. This forces us to dig deep and find genuine authenticity that resonates between the two of us as artists. We love to invite the listener into that space with us, and that's when the real magic happens."
